See as they are rationalising nonsense.

Why not brand your name on it , you are taking advantage of an established brand
I don't think anybody is rationalizing the unethical business practice being exposed on this thread....what I am trying to make you guys understand is that it is not a tribal thing, it is not done by only Igbos as the initial responders on this thread tried to twist it to create their usual ethnic disdain for Igbos.....it is a global practice today....those Alaba boys doing it must have learnt it from outside Nigeria, probably China, Turkey, etc. These countries are known for counterfeiting known brands and the whole world know about it and don't go about denigrating them for that....

If Nigeria was truly a one nation united by one goal; to achieve economic growth, national development and self-sufficiency, what our government ought to do is to find a way to invest massively in Aba made products to counter these unethical products and over time we will become a force to reckon with in Africa to start with.

Every nation you see today coming up technology-wise started from copying, its the sad truth. Even some known brands started from copying existing known brands to raise capital, and gradually they perfected their craft, built financial strength to start pushing their own brand confidently.

No such a thing as a fake television.
It is mass imitation production from China for cheaper amounts & lower quality. Just like the I phone 17 saga that was exposed. The annoying part is that the merchants here in Nigeria sell at ridiculous prices than the cost of buying & shipping.

Our regulatory bodies were not blind when it was brought in through Wharf Apapa. Bribery & corruption everywhere

Not only Lagos State government but the entire SW leaders urgently needs to come together and flush out these economic terrorists destroying the SW commerce.

Re: Alaba Boys Printing Fake “LG” Logo On Televisions (Video) by Osariemen12: 10:12am On Jan 10
There is no such thing as fake TV. What I understand here is that those TVs are assembled locally here with the imported parts. The cartoon is entirely manufactured locally and have to be branded. Nothing more.

Going after these hardworking men is like going after shoemakers who use imported leather to make and brand shoes.

We just have to encourage local production.

After printing the LG logo on the body of the TV, will they also get LG software to install on the inside of the TV as it's OS because that is where the main job is not just on printing the logo on the body.

And for those crying up there, this is what made China whatever they are today and they are still doing it.

Any brand or product you want to replicate in China or produce the counterfeit, it is being done in China and the whole world know about it and heaven haven't fell, so why the cry? cheesy
Yes, it is easy to have THE TV show you the LG or whatever when switched ON!

However indicating that on the TV carton while importing can be an infringement on the LG company, and the goods can be seized. That’s why it will be imported as a No Brand TV.

The same applies to clothings

It’s you and the dude that you mentioned that are saying rubbish..

If Tv nah Pamasonic or Soni, why branded it with LG cartoon, just to deceive people? Why don’t they use Pamasonic or Soni cartoon?

The new balance, Dior that they sell in turkey, do they brand them with Gucci cartoon?

You guys won’t advice una self now. If people stop buying from you guys tomorrow, you’ll claim it’s Igbo hatred..

Anything fake in SW, una days are numbered..
Now i can understand that u really lack comprehension skills or u are just simply tribalist like the so called madridguy. From my writeup i clearly stated that piracy is not good and didnt support it. I even stated that he should have clearly stated that it is bad and not go tribalistic like u are doing. I critically evaluate the write up and supported that it though it is a bad act it is not particular to one tribe or country. Turkey is full of europe pirated goods and heard same in china. I have been to turkey but not china but i heard it is piracy headquarters. Now i hope u can now comprehend since i have explained it that a pry5 can understand

Most countries that have technology today started from copying. China started that way and still doing it till tomorrow.

The first time I visited China, I was wowed.

My tour guide took me to a place in China where they produce replica of all the luxury fashion products on earth. You can't even differentiate between the counterfeits there and the original one.

Like one Christian Dior bag I once bought for my wife as a birthday gift that cost over a million naira, I saw it there at less than 400k and it's just same I had to buy a different design to show my wife.

I also bought replica Rolex watch they sell the original 3.5m and I bought the replica around 250k grin

You come to spare parts same thing

If you visit China you won't be surprised about this news. Yes I know it's not a good practice, it's violation of patent right but unfortunately that's what the whole world does now.

Turkey is even the headquarters of fake, copy or counterfeit luxury fashion products. All those luxury brand products they sell to you guys in Nigeria as original are all fake, counterfeits produced in Turkey. The whole world knows about this and reason many troop to Istanbul to buy cheap luxury brand fashion products at reduced price

You need to travel more and see that the world has spoilt sha, Alasba boys are learners
Does that make it right? Young. Guys can defend anything

na normal for that side. The worst oart is some of them are distributors and these products circulate round the country. Reason i dont like buying brand new electronics.
I love buying brand new.

But there are telltale signs to look out for, especially for electronics.

Asides that, go to the manufacturer's website and look for their authorized retailers in Nigeria.

For LG, Maxi or Hisense products for example, I'll usually go to Fouani and buy directly.

Unless its an inconsequential item I could easily replace, then I can buy from online marketplaces or the open market.

You will not see their back in any meaningful sector if Biafra happen today.

Just look at all the joke of government you have always supported out of tribal sentiment, keeping everybody down..... How have you fared with Tinubu is our brother presidency? If they can achieve what they have achieved without federal government presence since 1970, expect them to do it times ten when they are fully in charge and control of their resources. That is not a region where governors or senators bleach their skin or try to form godfather and dynasty after governing.

in fact, even this TV was produced in China, it's just been branded in naija. If not bad leadership, this guys can set up a TV factory right here in naija and produce, but, local government, state government, federal government and thugs go used billings kill them.

I can only blame Nigerians who don't engage in proper diligence before buying things. There are resources online on how to spot all these fake products.
