You guys should ask your brothers and sisters in America why they are ordering food stuffs from Nigeria even with Trump Tariff, if it is more expensive in Nigeria.

You guys are comparing the cost of chicken in Nigeria with that of America ignoring quality. I am not saying things are not expensive in Nigeria. The comparison is what I question.

Food is far cheaper in Nigeria. The chicken you are quoting the price are low quality. it is not comparable to what is obtainable in Nigeria. Nigerians that are lower middle class and up don't eat those chicken. I can speaks to it because I often meet many Nigerians at the farm buying live fish, chicken, cattle etc. You go to the farm not for the cheap price but for the quality that is same as you get in Nigeria.

How do you people even think with your brain sef?
This question ❓ baffles me like kilode!

Nigerian kilo of chicken still remains one of the most expensive in the world due to Bulaba's wuru-wuru economic policies and you are here yapping apata.
really
What policies would those be exactly?
Did he tell you not to enter farm?

One said it's not up to 6k. Another said it's 6k in their area. I'm sure by the time everyone gives the prices in their own area will see many different prices above 6k 😂

Even at 6k, price is still way above many countries. 😂

If you want a full list of other countries check the source quoted. The list contains major countries in the world across Africa, Asia, Europe and America.

The original source included costs of so many other products like beef, bread, milk, rice, petroleum and others.

The point was to show how Nigerians earn the lowest income yet still pay the price of first world countries, but instead of some of you to look at things critically, you would rather argue and refuse to see the point being made.

Ain't Nigerians funny people? "I bought 1kg of chicken at x price in my area, therefore, this must be the price everywhere in Nigeria and the OP must be a liar."

Nah, this is the funniest of them all. Chicken dealers sent me to show how chicken is expensive in Nigeria compared to other countries? 😂
by your logic all first workers should be able to buy a Bugatti.

One person just mentioned 7000 to 7500 in Benin, how much is 1kg of fresh whole chicken sold in your area in Nigeria?

Meanwhile, in the US, the price for same chicken could be as low as $3.
do you have the same capital, entrepreneurship cost like America,

And those are imported too, ain't they? If they're locally manufactured and still expensive, then that still proves my point.

Don't understand how locally manufactured products will be more expensive than counterparts in other countries unless, may be, some raw materials are imported.
can you compare a farmer planting 1acre of maize and another planting 500 acres with tractor?
Do you think they will sell at same price?
Do you think their salary will be the same?

Everyday I keep people saying look at Libya after America invaded it. They have no idea Libya is heaven compared to Nigeria. Cost of living is extremely cheap in Libya.

$4 is still very expensive considering the minimum wage of Nigeria compared to these countries... imagine using over 8.3% of your minimum wage to buy just 1 kg of chicken, it then means ordinary chicken is considered as luxury for minimum wage earners, can you say same for minimum wage earners of these countries been compared with? Sometimes is not just bee quick to dismiss a data, think critically before you do so, the essence of this wasn't just to brag whose chicken was the highest but to compare whose minimum wage could purchase the prices of the chicken listed. If you had seen this you won't just run to dismiss the prices because even at your price calculation the Nigerian situation is the worst of them all considering the minimum wage purchasing power.
are you comparing your productivity with their own

Power supply and logistics are very poor in Nigeria. These add to the overhead.
