AFCON 2025: Osimhen wins MOTM in Super Eagles’ dominant win over Algeria

Victor Osimhen was named Man of the Match following Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over the Desert Foxes of Algeria on Saturday.


Osimhen registered one goal, and one assist in the game.

The 27-year-old opened scoring for Nigeria with a superb header two minutes after the break.


The Galatasaray striker set up Adams Akor for Nigeria’s second goal in the 57th minute.

Osimhen has now netted four times, and provided two assists in five appearances for Nigeria in Morocco.


He is second on the top scorer’s list behind Morocco playmaker Brahim Diaz.

Regardless, I am still not impressed but thats a bit better from him. Before many peoples eyes opened, he has been doing it to his Nigerian teammates particularly Ademola- I presume he felt threatened that he might win CAF award ahead of him.....

He complains in ALL his match (If you doubt, go and watch all the matches both in qualifiers and this competition). He cant play in any big team in Europe...especially top teams. Who is he going to shout on?! He knows he cant try that rubbish.

We won today because everyone played very well and Algeria played abysmally bad. This team is a great one with good spirit!

Ademola still remains the best player of this tournament!

Osimhen fans make una dey take am easy lie. Who called for his decampment. Is he not the one who threatened to leave and go back to Turkey. And people say if he wants to go he should go.

Some people blew the incident out of proportion, & called for Osimhen to be dropped. Something the coach could easily resolve.
