Why are the rich "oppressing" the poor? grin

If not for the "fake products from China" many people would never be able to afford a flat screen Tv - How many families in Nigerian are buoyant enough to cough out 500 to 800 euros for a quality LG TV?

How many have the resources to even buy original quality phones or other gadgets?

I am not saying that "fake product" should be allowed into the country but as long as there is huge disparity in terms of income and as long as the rich continue "taunting" the poor with their riches the poor will always look for alternative product so as not to feel left out.

In most society, where the income gap is not that wide and where people earn living wage, the chances of opting for fake goods is very low. In fact, most people won't waste their money on such given that they can afford real and quality products and that the system protect them as customers in terms of failure of the product.

Anyways, as long as poverty is supreme in Nigeria and as long as the poor wants to live like the rich, opportunist will exploit the situation and will continue selling fake and dangerous products.
And this kind of thing will be sharing international passport with me.
Can you just imagine this.

You are probably one of them.

Funny enough the original LG is not even a good TV. Sony and Panasonic are the best products when it comes to TV

No worry yourself, LG is a big brand with financial power, they will deal with them.

These same callous people rendered many movie producers, movie and music artistes poor and homeless by pirating their hard work. Some of them died without recovering from it. After months of hard work, you go around all TV stations for media tour to market and promote your movie or album. While you're at it, you would see the pirated CDs hanging on the shelves everywhere by the roadside and these wicked people already selling the pirated copies and making money while you you're left to struggle to payback the loans you borrowed for the production.

It was the arrival of digital platforms like YouTube, Netflix & co that rescued the career of Nigerian artistes from being wrecked by these people.

And these people are the biggest critics of Government, they keep shouting and pretending they love Nigeria more than others, saying a new Nigeria is POOsible. Meanwhile they are more evil than the devil himself.

Imagine these ones in power, they will use federal power to protect their Mafia businesses. And if a whistleblower raises an alarm, they will use DSS to lock him/her in underground cell and finish him there. Nigeria indeed dodged a bullet.
you were making sense before you turned it to tribal sentiment.

See them... Others are corrupt but na only dem no dey corrupt. See the stanky mindset of people who are not corrupt.

To them, If not for fake drugs, many people will not be able to cure their sicknesses. To them, if not for fake drinks, many people will not be able to afford drinks. While they have killed thousands of people more than Bokoharam in the name of quick money syndrome.

They're quick to compare their criminality to China, forgetting that China manufacture their products based on specifications. What you asked for is what they manufacture for you. Most of these products meets the national standards set up by the standardization agency in China but might not necessarily meet up with Nigeria's standardization which makes it substandard and cheaper. But you people are manufacturing POISONS that meets No standard specifications. None!
If you feel so pained, why not work hard, raise forty million naira and import a simple 40ft container of drugs from China, manufactured to your own specification? Or na by mouth and shouting on social media pages. Or while you limit your attack on a particular group, you know that your people, while claiming ownership of lands, have ventured into such businesses?

I
$500 to $800 Euro for a TV? Average price for a brand new world class Roku Smart TV in the US is $100 to $300. Which is about 85 to 260 Euro.

Of course there are out of this world 80 inch TVs for $3000. But a good 40 inch TV is less than $200.

It's best to buy LG products from the registered dealers like Fouani. Otherwise, it's a risk.

I still feel that it makes more sense to build our own brands instead of counterfeiting. Polystar for instance has cheaper electronics for lower income people. Slowly and steadily, they'll step up to greater heights.

Those stamping other brand's logos on their low quality products will continue to cheat but one day, they'll pay for their crime.

I observed that electronic are cheaper in the US than Europe. But maybe it has to do with cost of labor and regulations?

Yeah. You can import fake TVs from China, but don't try to pass it off as a brand name and sell them close to original price. That is fraud.

this is so shameful of you to say.. how corrupt minded are you,, let’s not talk about other products that are hazardous to human and endangers Nigerians life in the name of this productions you’re talking about.. now you mentioned china fakes.. let’s agree it’s fake people buy them knowing what they’re buying.. not someone producing a product they’re not producing to give a name but rather use another brands name.. if I want to buy thesame tv knowing I can’t afford lg I’ll go for it.. not that I’ll be buying a different product in the name of lg.. that’s criminality .. that’s Dubois.. and heartless ..
Re: LG Electronics Nigeria Issues Consumer Alert On Counterfeit TVs by davillian(m): 10:43pm On Jan 10
if the original tv comes with confirmation details A
they would use A on the fake
so when u confirm the fake TV with A you think its original.
so lg needs to allow customers check original using codes on the tv itself...
so once u dial the code on the tv using a remote it tells u error or original product
