Thanks dear. I pray this dries up through antibiotics only because I can't imagine the pain he will go through if a syrings/needle are to be used. Make him no journey to the great beyond out of pain and trauma

Bro ....stop and think before you act ... don't be driven by emotions or you'll make his situation worse. Stop and think about this .... someone prescribing medication but not knowing the cause of the problem? Does that make sense? What is the medication? Google it and see what it does .... and I can bet my life it will do absolutely nothing to that swelling. Then Google the side effects and you will see how you will wreck his life. We can understand money is scarce...what home remedy did you try? ... ones for abscess? ..did you consult any herbalist? ..nothing is new under the sun ...they may know. Just don't be stuffing him with drugs. If nothing else ...gather your money and go to a hospital ...one with doctors and not vultures.

My suggestion is that you take him straight to the hospital so a doctor can better diagnose him and possibly find out any other issues may have been keeping to himself. In the year 2026, going to hospital as soon as one detects an issue should have become normalized by adults. 🤔🤔

Not every health condition is a hospital case. This is why we need experienced and well trained Pharmacists and other Healthcare professionals.

If it is due to allergic reaction to insect bite and present with symptoms seen in such cases especially after the person has scratched it or applied home remedy that reduced inflammation signs, administration of otc anti-allergies medicine and topical preparation after evaluation by any experienced Pharmacist will relieve it in 1-3 days.

I completely agree that your alarm is justified because of the way OP posted it. If after 2-3 days, symptoms don't go away then it will be referred to the hospital.

It's a month old baby forming in your ear so better go register for Anti-natal

There is nothing wrong with seeking a second opinion from any media even if you have money for immediate medical attention or if you live in countries where medical care for elderly is free.

We do not have that privilege in Nigeria for the elderly. This is not the time to start a blaming game. The contribution here have been helpful and more to learn for those of us not affected.
