Angry youths in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State, on Saturday vandalised a 2027 presidential election billboard of President Bola Tinubu while protesting the abduction and killing of a young man by suspected kidnappers.

The protest followed the alleged killing of the victim, who was abducted on January 9, 2026, at Ojo Street, Ihumudumu area of Ekpoma. According to sources, the young man was kidnapped by about four assailants at the gate of his brother’s residence as he was about to enter the house.

It was further gathered that the kidnappers later killed the victim, sparking outrage among residents and youths in the community, who took to the streets to express their anger over the growing insecurity in the area.

The youths should be arrested and prosecuted.
