The United States is not known for any other thing than scale and size. That is what makes the US the leading country. Nothing more.

There are better roads in China and Germany.
There are taller buildings in the UAE.
There are finer towns in Switzerland.

May be you are. Therr are.many bad parts in the US. I have seen many over the years.
In fact there are roads that are not paved, there are many poverty areas, many crime invested areas. Come to Albany Ga and you will people living likenback in the slave trade.
I.ws working with FEMA back in the late 90s and I just couldn't believe that I was still in the US.
Go to rural Kentucky and see poverty.
Obviously no sane person can compare US with Nigeria. When thr USi was already in the industrial age you are people still dey cover their yanc with leaves.

Hollywood Nights etc so she arrived in the US with certain expectations. Even you ... what is "dingy" about this town? Roads good ...buildings in good shape ... old but well maintained... painted ...occupied ..streets clean .. paved ..painted ..street lights working and one can assume 24/7 electricity. Name three places including cities in Nigeria that can check more boxes. There are many "dingy" and impoverished towns in the US ... wayyy worse than the average town or city in Nigeria . This town is just not in that category. Many would wish their town/city can be like this .

Yeah, but what is their gdp compared to ours, even the poorest over there can afford basics that are luxurious to we Nigerians no thanks to APC.
My nice who is in college over in that same US, from proceeds of holiday work is flying to multiple countries on holiday, small pikin doing what grown adults that have worked from 20years in naija cannot afford to.
Someone was consoling Nigerians yesterday in that post about changing cedis to naira, omo what the average Ghanaian can afford to buy now the average naija man cannot. Nigerians that would go to Benin republic few years ago and they will look at us as big men, we would stay in hotel sofitel and other 5star hotels over there, omo, today it is a no go place, changing naira to go spend there is like spending dollars or pounds, you will be changing the money in your head.

I wonder o, there is no country without its ghetto, and when you go deeper you will realize that those areas are mostlty inhabited by immigrants. Such places full ground for London
