In a functional society, these rag tag bandits and terrorists should be handled by the police and not the military.

Kudos to our police

Re: Police Strike Bandits Camp With Helicopter In Kogi (Video) by oz4real83(m): 5:18am On Jan 12
The federal govt has renamed them terrorists, some sympathisers still call them bandits, just like the late Buhari who ruled aloof and allowed the problem take root and grow embarassed

The Nigeria Police Force which is part of Nigeria Armed Forces is taking back it's glory. The NPF has different sizes of machine used strictly for major operations kept in state headquarters. Late President Shehu Shagari empowered the NPF mopols. I've been seeing police convoys with different grades of MGs in Jos, Plateau State heading to hot volatile areas.

It's obvious, TINUBU is out for business 👌.
Re: Police Strike Bandits Camp With Helicopter In Kogi (Video) by runningriot: 6:14am On Jan 12
Excellent and magnificent job by the NPF this is a total turn over. Apparently, as the the number one internal security organ of the state this is what we should be expecting from you. Perhaps, if Intentional and conscious approach is applied with proper and good funding of the police takes effects most definitely we will see positive results from the pillar power of Nigeria security.

Maybe, those ones are ground troops from the police that went for the operation. That was why you can literally see that the armed helicopter was not raining bullets on them.

Bros, I'm not stupid like most of you people. State sponsored media is a thing, and I know it. NTA, AIT, Channels are all state sponsored media outlets. There is no bitterness anywhere, the truth is bitter for you and your lot. Continue deceiving people.

Trump annihilated terrorists in sokoto, non of these outlets posted videos or pictures of the operation, independent media outlets did. Some of them even propagated the news that there were no casualties.
Now you carry camera take pictures and videos, send to AIT in an attempt to give it credibility. AIT is state media, heavily compromised. Rest abeg

Pellow Kwantiri-mans this video clip get K-leg BECAUSE the Nigerian police do NOT own a single "attack" helicopter. Police helicopters in Nigeria perform the same functions as police helicopters anywhere else, namely for surveillance and transportation.

In this video clip, we see a burning village with lots of people standing around the place calmly BECAUSE they are NOT under attack from the helicopter circling above. Most likely this village was set aflame by terrorists, following which Nigerian troops carried out a counter attack that sent the terrorists fleeing.

With the village back in the hands of federal troops, the helicopter was sent to have a look at the area, where it circled very low without frightening anyone on the ground because all the people on the ground knew the terrorist attack was over, and that the helicopter was there as part of the security response.

The Nigerian Air Force is in fact executing numerous successful air strikes against terrorists in their camps, but this footage is NOT related to any of those ongoing ground attack operations. If the helicopter from which this footage was filmed had been firing at the ground, NOBODY on the ground would be standing by casually sight-seeing as shown in this video clip because they would be shooting back or running helter-skelter to avoid getting strafed from above.

What is wrong when military deals with terrorists? In America and other countries military are involved in dealing with terrorists. In Israel, IDF are involved in dealing with terrorists. No big deal. You people are just fond of criticizing.Unfortunately you have never left the shore of this country. You don't know what is going on in any country except the lies they tell you on your Facebook and Whatsapp groups.

All I can say is Thank God for Donald Trump. We now know that Nigerian Police have a functional Helicopter and that they can actually strike bandits inside Bush. First I have heard of in many years.

Wonderment. Are you sure those were not military helicopters?

Anyway even if the police do operate ground attack helicopters, the video shown in this thread is not such an attack due to the relaxed demeanor of all the people milling around on the ground. This is merely a surveillance flight over the scene of a previously repelled attack by terrorists.

I read through the writeup you kindly linked here, Ogawa Helinues, but there is no mention that I spotted referring to those police helicopters being equipped to strafe ground targets, as claimed in this video clip. Ground attack is a military responsibility and it is unlikely that police helicopters are involved in any operations beyond surveillance and personnel transport.

It is not likely that the description of what is occurring in this video clip was intended to be deceptive, BUT this claim that the police engage in helicopter gunship operations just doesn't add up for this armchair general.

The Nigeria police have their own air wing like air force. They acquired one attack helicopter in that report. The important of the wing is to be able to assist with aerial attack, they can as well make use of Nigeria air helicopter attack for operation

I must confess I just skimmed through that linked article. Well it is great news to hear that the Nigerian police helicopter is not just an eye in the sky, but is an armed eagle with the power to deliver death from above as needed. This is fantastic news to hear.

Now that you mention it, I do recall that the San Bernardino Sheriffs Department in Southern California did some years back incorporate training for their officers about the techniques of hitting moving targets on the ground with rifle fire delivered through the open door of their patrol helicopters, so it is safe to say Nigeria is not the only country where police helicopters can be serve as non-military gunships.

Not entirely correct, in many countries, when its terrorism case whether inside a country or outside, military forces can be deployed to handle the situation complimenting police effort

Remember military can deal with terrorists both within and outside a country

Yes i agree. But personally I don't think these people are more sophisticated than our police. Our police should have been able to handle them long ago
