MufasaLion:We are on the same page. People who should have cut off Malami and Tambuwal's hands for stealing, according to Sharia law, but instead, celebrated them. Religion is truly the opium of the masses, and also for the poor. |

This Bello Turji character resembles former BH leader Abubakar Shekau. We'll see if the curtain closes similarly. |

These are the same Northerners that when election time comes will still give bloc votes on the basis of religion to politicians who have refused to give them basic protection. Same people that if the US announces of an intention to strike terrorists, they will be given placards to go and protest foreign intervention. They will say "US is the devil" but no protest against Turji and the bandits who have been terrorizing their lives for years |

In Nigeria, Joy Is a Visitor and Grief Is a Tenant There is a particular kind of heartbreak that only Nigerians understand—the heartbreak of a nation where joy never stays long enough to settle, where celebration is always interrupted by sorrow, where hope is constantly negotiating with fear. It is the emotional rhythm of a country that has learned to dance and mourn in the same breath. Barely twelve hours after the Super Eagles lifted the spirit of the nation with their AFCON victory—twelve hours after Nigerians poured into the streets, singing, laughing, reclaiming a rare moment of unity—the country was dragged back into its familiar darkness. News broke of killings and kidnappings in Sokoto villages. Families wiped tears of joy from football celebrations only to shed tears of grief for lives lost. This is the Nigerian story: a nation where joy is a visitor and grief is a tenant. ⚽ A Country That Celebrates With One Eye on the News Football is one of the last things that still binds us together. When the Super Eagles win, the entire country breathes differently. For a moment, we forget the hardship, the insecurity, the hunger, the broken systems. We remember what it feels like to be proud. But even that pride is fragile. In Nigeria, happiness has an expiration time. It is rationed. It is conditional. It is always followed by a headline that reminds us of the reality we live in. We celebrate with caution because we know the country too well. We rejoice with restraint because we have learned to expect the worst. We laugh loudly, but never for too long. The Violence That Never Sleeps The tragedy in Sokoto is not an isolated incident. It is part of a national pattern—one that has become so normalized that many Nigerians no longer flinch when they hear of killings, kidnappings, or villages burned overnight. Bandits in the North West. Insurgents in the North East. Communal clashes in the Middle Belt. Kidnappers in the South. Economic violence everywhere. Nigeria is a country where danger has become routine. Where tragedy is predictable. Where breaking news rarely brings good news. And yet, the government’s response is always the same: silence, denial, or recycled promises. A People Forced to Be Resilient Nigerians are some of the most resilient people on earth—but resilience is not a virtue when it becomes a survival mechanism. It is not a compliment when it is forced. It is not strength when it is the only option. We deserve more than resilience. We deserve safety. We deserve stability. We deserve joy that lasts longer than a football match. A nation cannot thrive when its people are constantly oscillating between celebration and mourning. A country cannot progress when its citizens are emotionally exhausted. A society cannot flourish when grief is more consistent than governance. The Emotional Cost of Being Nigerian There is a psychological toll to living in a country where joy is fleeting and tragedy is constant. It creates a population that is always on edge, always bracing for impact, always waiting for the next blow. This is not normal. This is not sustainable. This is not the Nigeria we were promised. The emotional instability of the nation is a direct reflection of leadership failure. When a country cannot protect its people, cannot guarantee safety, cannot prevent predictable violence, then the problem is not fate—it is governance. Nigeria Must Confront Its Truth We cannot continue pretending that these tragedies are isolated. We cannot keep normalizing violence. We cannot keep burying our dead while celebrating football victories as if they cancel each other out. Nigeria must confront its truth: The country is bleeding. The people are tired. The joy is too short. The grief is too long. The leadership is too comfortable. This is not pessimism. This is honesty. And honesty is the first step toward accountability. A Future Worth Fighting For Despite everything, Nigerians continue to hope. That hope is not naïve—it is defiant. It is the belief that one day, joy will not be temporary. That one day, our celebrations will not be overshadowed by tragedy. That one day, the news from Sokoto, Kaduna, Benue, Imo, Zamfara, and every corner of the country will not be filled with bloodshed. We are not asking for miracles. We are demanding governance. We are demanding safety. We are demanding a Nigeria where joy is not a visitor, but a resident. Until then, we will continue to speak, write, advocate, and refuse to be silent. Because silence has never saved a nation. But truth has. — Olanre Francis, MyPalaver.net Editorial Board |

The Turji I know would have made a video to send this message. This is exactly what I told someone last year, that Turji may be turned into a franchise just like shekau. They will keep on appointing new Bello Turjis as the former ones get killed or maimed in order to maintain the terror he created. The northern politicians and their media are complicit in this matter because they help spread the falsehood abroad. Always look at the handles that spread the news, and their timing to understand what I'm saying. The northern elites don't care about their people, keeping them in line by maintaining fear and terror is the goal. |

MufasaLion:Guess what either you pity Northerner or not if things continue like this e go reach everybody, these guys have expanded to some rural areas in the South (Oyo, Edo, Enugu, and some parts in Ekiti and Ondo state). If APC should win in 2027 Nigeria might be on its way to becoming Afghanistan. This is how the Taliban started 2 decades ago |
