I got this phone around November last year and the screen just got spoilt in less than 3 months of using it.

It has never fallen from my hand.
I started noticing some cracks on the screen guard despite the phone has never fallen.

I now decided to change screen guard and just a day after putting the new screen guard, I noticed a line crack from top to bottom at the middle.
Then 2 white lines appeared the following day before it started displaying pink colour all over the screen

The screen later turned like this yesterday and I feel very bad right now.

It's a very shitty brand
Even an iPhone XR has better camera. People just overhype it, but it doesn't retain the quality of pictures.

My samsung that use to fall once in a while since I got it in 2023 has never had screen issue. I change my screen guard every 3 months and it has been serving me well

I didn't know the pixel brand is just hype, now I regret

Imagine spending 200k to replace the screen of a phone that isn't durable.

Google should just focus on their search engine and YouTube

Don't waste your money on this phone brand or you'll regret it

The phone's clipboard is very confused one that distorts what you copy. It can't even keep what you copy for long
Just overhyped rubbish
Re: . by laivwire(m): 8:53pm On Jan 12
The battery was already bad and swelling. That's what cracked your screen.

I've been on Pixels since 2018 and I've enjoyed them so far. From pixel 3, 3xl, 6 and now 8.

The pixel 3 had a swollen battery that totally destroyed the phone (cracked both the screen and glass back.

I've had no issues with the others and I still have both the 6 and 8 currently. Bought brand new.

Safe to say, if you want to get a Pixel, get a clean UK used or brand new. Parts are also hard to come by but you'd enjoy the bloatware free experience.

I just removed the screen guard now and there's no single crack on the phone's screen
The line I talked about was on the screen guard

What will make a screen just go bad without any impact

Re: . by michlins(m): 9:47pm On Jan 12
Using a pixel after using a Samsung. Nothing comes close to Pixel please.

Buying brand new Pixel 6 currently as new one is impossible. You don buy Ikeja made Pixel 6
Re: . by Abee79(m): 10:04pm On Jan 12
Genuine Pixel is a very good phone. I think you were scammed . . .
Re: . by pheranme9(m): 10:23pm On Jan 12

Re: . by ibawon(m): 6:40am On Jan 13
I know this is painful as this same issue happened with my 1+1 then. Sorry brother. However, I can guarantee you that screen is not OEM and a very bad one for a third party screen. I used this particular phone and did not face any of these problems.

One of the reasons I am still on the fence Pixels is that they do not support 5G and the charging speed and quite annoying coming from Brands like Oneplus, Xiaomi and Samsung.

you probably got a refurbished phone packaged to you as new. Dem Dey run am for ikeja well well nah. The phones screen has already been replaced and the fake one is there. I’ve been a pixel fan since pixel one. And now I use a pixel 10pro. Even though I use an iPhone there are a lot of things this iPhone can never ever do.

Lol. 5G on pixel phones started since the Pixel 4, which came out 6 or 7 years ago.

OP got a very badly refurbished phone from China.

you will think you're enjoying Pixel until you touch 10 pro XL. Used it briefly and nearly dumped my 9 pro xl

Pixel is what android is supposed to be. Clean without excessive gimmicks you can barely use

Probably. Pixel phones are 5g capable. What I meant was 5g on Pixel phones do not work in this region. You can confirm on the Pixel thread or Reddit from other pixel users. I tried to see if it changed on a colleagues Pixel 10 and it's still same story.

even my Airtel router that say it is 5g doesn’t even have 5g. I have always been on 4g even thought it’s an Airtel router itself and has 5g written on it lol
Re: . by dgr8truth(m): 1:35pm On Jan 13
OP your pixel doesn't come with the original screen. Order original screen from ifixit.com, they ship to Nigeria. I've been using pixel for quite a long time and the experience can be compared to when I was using Samsung.
Re: . by Serenitys: 3:09pm On Jan 13
I have this same issue currently with 8pro..
After using it for 2 months, nah me advise my myself..
Nothing will come close to samsung in terms of durability and reliability..

Pixel camera is dope though but just take samsung of same Gen and rest..
Re: . by Smartlife(m): 3:21pm On Jan 13
Stop making noise and creating threads everywhere. Na you go buy faulty pixel as brand new. I have been using pixel phones right from 2xl to even 6a am using currently. Everything about this phone makes a perfect sense and I don't see any other brand I can use after experiencing this brand. My next target is the Google pixel 10
Re: . by Bossman(m): 3:50pm On Jan 13
Of course, pixel devices do support 5G. However they do not work on 5G in Nigeria.

They sold a fake pixel to you, Google Pixel is one of the best phone out there.

Please I need your advice oo. I'm currently considering changing from my Samsung S21 to either Pixel 8 or S23. Enjoyed the s21 so far, but battery is bad, heats up really bad and average camera. I'm hearing pixel has similar battery issues + poor network? I need something refreshing that's why I'm considering Google Pixels. The S23 seems too boring, but really stable and durable though. Please share your practical experience, major observations and general advice, thanks.

It seems you reside in an area with weak signal. It usually contributes to phone temperature and battery drainage but if you're going for pixel, turn off 5g in settings to conserve battery. Aside from that Pixels come with lots of ai features (magic eraser, background music auto identification, real time call transcription, etc). they are both good phones with modern features like reverse charging but pixels take sharper pictures and have cheaper parts than Samsung (especially screen). But Samsung is more thermally stable ie heats up less during gaming for example (even though your signal strength will still influence this)

So the choice is yours. I sell Pixels BTW. If you're in Abuja/banex, kindly holla at me with your target or budget
