The original eguns can never claim to be Yorubas, non of the eguns that I have met , hundreds of them never claim to be Yoruba, even their names are very unique however a very few of them have Yoruba names yet they lay claim to their ancestry being from Dahomey. Even the provincial kings in Badargry from Itoga, Topo, Ikoga, Igborosun, Javie, Iragon and co do not have the title of Oba but Aholu while the Yoruba Awori areas like Ibereko, Araromi and co bears the Oba title.
