ADC Inaugurates North-east Committee, Woos Saraki, Jonathan by Orabi(op): 12:57pm On Jan 13

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), has inaugurated its North-East Zonal Congress Committee, reaffirming its commitment to party expansion, internal democracy, and national rebirth, while calling on former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, to join the party.

The inauguration ceremony, organised by the party’s National Leadership, was held in Gombe State on January 11, 2026, and was presided over by Dr. Muhammad S. Muhammad.

In a communique signed by the National Chairman of the ADC, Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe, described the inauguration as a significant step towards strengthening the party’s structures and ensuring transparent and credible congresses across the zone.

According to a communique issued at the end of the event, the party ratified and inaugurated key officials to oversee the zonal congress process in the North-East. Engr. Mrs. Patience Alex was appointed as Chairperson of the North-East Zonal Congress Committee, while Mr. Abayomi Adekunle was inaugurated as Chairman of the Zonal Appeal Committee.

In the communique, the ADC also made a passionate appeal to several distinguished statesmen and national leaders to join the party in its mission to rebuild and reposition Nigeria.

Gombe said: “The authentic National Leadership of the ADC passionately appeals to and invites the following eminent personalities to join the party in its mission to rebuild and reposition Nigeria.

“Those invited include the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed; the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri; former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki; former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan; Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde; Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti; and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

“The ADC believes their experience, leadership, and patriotism are crucial in uniting efforts to make Nigeria great again.

“The ADC reiterates its commitment to providing a credible, inclusive, and progressive platform dedicated to good governance, national unity, and sustainable development for all Nigerians.”

The party stressed that it remains focused on mobilising Nigerians across all regions to support a new political direction anchored on accountability, equity, and the collective aspiration to make Nigeria great again.

Saraki does not need much wooing. His man, Bolaji Abdullahi is the spokesman of ADC. I strongly believe that Saraki planted him there to pave the way for himself. Saraki must be a PDP man in his body, but an ADC man in his soul.

I think Obi should work with Saraki. It will neutralize the tribal games APC likes to play. He is from North Central and history has proven that he can stand his ground. I know he wanted to be president too. Obi-Saraki will be had for APC to do their tribal agenda because Saraki can play two cards. However it's good that life has humbled these people. Atiku, Saraki, Tambuwwal, Amaechi and the rest of them that worked to destroy their PDP and work with ACN/CPC/APGA to form the unholy alliance we have today called APC can see how to destroy is easy but to build is hard tongue

He is not to those who like the games of power, politics and positions. He is a useful tool, very fine tool. I had posted that they made us think Atiku was the problem but look at PDP one year after Atiku left. We know who is sponsoring him and enjoys the chaos. It's not accidental. It's well planned.

That man played the same game with AD so it's not a surprise to see it. Even PDP in Lagos could not be a good opposition because they kept using them as false flag. Look at the last guy who contested for Lagos Governor for PDP last time, he moved to APC and was not ashamed to let you know he worked as a mole. Mr Strategy has used this playbook many times and it works where there are hungry people who can sell their father's house for pittance. It's a Machiavellian type of politics that involves rub my back, I pat you and it's big money involved. Leave integrity for honest people. That one no consain dem.

You see this campaign they are running against Obi and GRV? They did it to Jimi Agbaje. In 2007, he made a good show in his first campaign with a relatively unknown party against Fashola, the next time he campaigned as a PDP man, they called him all manner of names and attached 'Ibo' to him. They already took care of PDP in 2007, they were not expecting an Agbaje to surprise them with organic votes under DPA, they took note from there and ever since then, he can't win their smear campaign. They are always using tribe to scare voters away but those who understand the game can see the fear. I wonder why people can't see this cheap pattern. APC pattern is familiar, that's why I have no pity for them when ipob or obidient give them the same medicine. They are half sides of a coin as far as I am concerned. It's giving them their own medicine. Propaganda must not be allowed to run unchallenged, if Obidients give them in the same coin, at least, it is fire for fire.

Mr Tinubu does not like competition, you are blocking his way. And we all knew this after Funso Williams was taken away from us by those who know themselves. If that man agrees to a debate this time, I will vote for him. But you can tell that he wasn't bothered about competition, that's why he appointed El Rufai and the gang to speak for him at Chatham House while the other contestants spoke for themselves. Mr Teamship does not bother to do presidential media chats, Mr Wike has done more media chats than the President shocked

2014/15 was not coalition but political party merger with more than 10 Governors and the rest Governors under PDP worked against their party within most especially from the North.

I don't think so o. The question , can makinde break the south west votes and APC stronghold in the south west? Can he pull enough votes in Ondo, Ekiti, Osun , votes enough to win or make a serious political statement

As long as Obi is not a presidential candidate, why won't Igbos vote for the party he is with, against APC that is decidedly anti-Igbo?

Makinde can bring youthfulness and broadbased appeal to the ticket, unlike Obi's narrow and divisive posturing. makinde's addition is not so much for his personal votes delivery, but for his complementary balance to the ticket, like what Osinbajo did to the Buhari ticket in 2015.
