Stop watching too much CNN, Russia entered Kiev then pulled back as part of the Istanbul agreements.
They don't seem to be interested in re-entering Kiev which is in Western Ukraine, their interest lies in taking Russian speaking Donbass regions where they are welcomed by the locals.

It's like Nigeria forces entering Benin Republic, Tinubu was able to stop the coup there because they are Yoruba speaking, he couldn't do same for Niger Republic which is Hausa speaking and they didn't welcome him, same applies to Putin and Russia

USA couldn't defeat Afghanistan, but successfully overthrew the Taliban government in less than 2 months and eventually killed Osama bin laden. Had no business in afghanistan again and withdrew eventually.
