I agree with the reasons for this happening however, the issue isn’t about wether it happens all around the world ...that shouldn't justify the situation.

That a response is AI generated doesn't mean it's accurate or foolproof...AI responses also include data from developing countries and wrong sources.

Why didn't they run a scan immediately the patient returned with complaints? That's standard procedure especially for situations like that...if they'd done the needful on time, that death could've been avoided. She kept coming with complaints and they kept giving her pain meds.

Mind you, if this happened in the States or the UK like your example, that hospital would be sued into oblivion.

Beware of Google doctors, I always use my sense when auto mechanic tell me something, you can’t just tell me you want to change you car brainbox for no reason, why not check the fuse box first, trace wires to check it there is bridging first , you must know what you are doing, so many times I’ve told Automobiles mechanic to stop and couple it back if i sense you don’t know what you are doing, you can’t gamble with human life or health because you are a careless doctor, it’s unprofessional

"After every operation" you said. This error was made by the surgeon DURING the surgery so don't bring in the nurses here. So, if the nurses take stock AFTER the surgery and discovered that a scissors was missing and it was then found to have been left inside the patient, does that absolve the doctors of negligence?

Something similar happened to my Mom, I can't forget 2001.
The Surgeon left a surgical blade inde and within a short while, the bladder was damaged.
It was a sad moment, urine just dripping.
Thank God she was moved to Jos and treated even though it took almost a full year before recovery.
God really used the white Doctors.
25yrs now and she's still alive even though with a rubber bladder.

Though not confirmed or verified, but I have always believed her death was a result of some negligence.

I went to a pharmacy to buy medicine one day, i called the name of the medicine for them, the next thing they did was ask me to spell it for them and as I was doing that, one of them was using Google to search for the medicine; i vexed and left them. Illiterates everywhere!

I guess anyhowness is present in England where there are over 250 cases of such per year, or in the US where there are between 4500-6500 cases per year, and those are both considered to be underestimations.

I developed sepsis after a CS. only God saved me. I had to do an exploratory laparotomy another major surgery to save my life a week after the CS. It was hell! stayed a month in the hospital trying to recuperate. The healing was very slow as the CS site was broken and couldn't be re-sutured. Any time I remember how I escaped that bad experience I cringe!

Nobody is biased against the doctors. People are only expressing their frustration with the healthcare system in the country. These doctors compromise standards all the time and do just as they please in our hospitals! They truly need to checkmated by ensuring they don't go scot-free after committing medical negligence like this.

Since the government has refused to do the right thing by taking away leadership of our hospitals away from the medical doctors and ensuring that only qualified and neutral healthcare administrators run our hospitals, medical negligence will continue to be the order of the day. This is because the medical doctor leaders of these hospitals will do everything to protect erring doctors because they all belong to the same association (NMA). That is why they frustrate patients who want to seek justice in courts after suffering medical negligence in hospitals.
