Inside EFCC’s terrorism financing, money laundering charges against Bauchi officials A PREMIUM TIMES review of official documents and court records paints a disturbing picture of how money meant for the development of Bauchi State ended in private pockets. The Bauchi State Government paid millions of dollars, off the banking system and via unofficial channels, to finance what it called the state’s “security commitment” between late 2023 and July 2024, a PREMIUM TIMES review of government records, official accounts and court documents shows.https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/848712-inside-efccs-terrorism-financing-money-laundering-charges-against-bauchi-officials.html

Another initial gragra by the EFCC to look like they are fighting corruption yet nothing will come out of it. If Yahaya is still walking freely, the EFCC is complicit in the corruption. Mynd44:But young boys are treated outside the court? The disparity between the rich and the poor. Just like their sister institution lied Abba Kyari went to prison but no inmate from the same prison has seen Abba during roll-call or prison work. It is safe to say that if you must commit a crime in Nigeria, ensure it runs into billions and you'll be safe. You'll be safer if you cross-carpet into the APC. The EFCC has lost its credibility.

chatinent:The arresting agency isn't the ones to blame. Their job is to investigate, arrest and charge the offender to court. The constant adjournments that leads to court cases taking long is the fault of the court. The EFCC has done their jobs but they are not the judicial system except you want a situation where they act outside the court |

According to government records and accounts of officials and agents, one of the beneficiaries was a leader of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, who has had run-ins with Nigeria’s security and intelligence community. Mr Bodejo reportedly spent about six months cumulatively in detention in 2024 and briefly faced terrorism charges within the year before the Attorney-General of the Federation’s office withdrew the case without giving reasons. The Bauchi State Government, according to its records and agents, disbursed a total of $2.33 million to him in four tranches across four months, between 2023 and 2024. if you are not with APC then you are automatically against them and the best reply is . Another initial gragra by the EFCC to look like they are fighting corruption yet nothing will come out of it. If Yahaya is still walking freely, the EFCC is complicit in the corruption. |

Mynd44:The same man Tinubu released and dropped all terrorism charges against? This EFCC media trial looks pure political, I'm not saying the people involved are innocent but the fact that Tinubu does everything he does for politics even if it doesn't favour anybody except him, from what I feel here, he just wants Gov Bala in APC, so I just see all these as pure nonsense till I see sincerity from Tinubu |

Only in Bauchi state. What about the states whose governors have joined the APC? I guess they are squeaky clean. Rubbish country. I know they just want to force their arm to join the useless demonic party hence the investigations. This is what they have been using to force criminally inclined governors to join their coven of devils. |

This is a matter of grave national concern and it should urgently reach the President’s attention. The idea that a state government could pay public funds into accounts linked to alleged terrorists raises serious questions about oversight, accountability, and national security. Such allegations must not be treated lightly. A thorough, independent investigation is essential, and the courts should take full charge of the matter to establish the facts. If any individuals are found guilty after due process, the law must take its full course, with penalties that reflect the severity of the crime. Terrorism financing undermines national security, erodes public trust, and directly endangers innocent lives. No political, ethnic, or institutional consideration should shield anyone from justice. The integrity of the state and the safety of citizens must come first |

It's not by long obviously sponsored newspaper trials. EFCC should get a conviction this time if they have any evidence. We know all this will evaporate into thin air if Bala Mohammed agrees to join the APC today. Just like Yahaya Bello and Okowa's cases. This is the coercion we talk about. Coerced or money-induced defections can never translate into votes. |

Mynd44:A lot of people are ignorant of the rot in the judiciary and how its fueling the criminality in the society. Spoke with a senior police officer one day and he was lamenting on this same issue, spending energy, manpower and even loss of personnel to track down an evil entity only to be granted bail by the court and case keep adjourning till the second coming of Christ |
| Re: EFCC’s Terrorism Financing, Money Laundering Charges Against Bauchi Officials by AMINDA: 7:09am On Jan 15 |
Mynd44:I disagree. The onus is on their prosecutors to provide water-tight evidence to the courts. Why sponsor so many sensational newspaper articles and provide them with sensitive information against suspects, only to fail in getting a conviction? It simply tells that the initial agenda was just to carry out a smear campaign. There were so much talks about Malami laundering 250 billion in the newspapers but EFCC only ended up charging him to court for 8 billion naira charges. And we know they will still fail to get a conviction on that. How many high-profile convictions have the EFCC successfully carried out under their current boss? That's how you measure performance. Not by theatrics. |

Let's not blame EFCC though they are not perfect but they still try to bring evidence. What we should look after is what happen next after such revelation. What is the judiciary and other institutions doing. |

Timmi:listen to yourself, read the starement below Mr Bodejo reportedly spent about six months cumulatively in detention in 2024 and briefly faced terrorism charges within the year before the Attorney-General of the Federation’s office withdrew the case without giving reasons.Ask yourself why Tinubu withdrew all charges against him without giving a single reason? It is you that may be having reading and comprehension issues not me, even after checking the article, there is no where his name was listed among those charged by the EFCC, why is the EFCC charging only the Bauchi officials when his name was mentioned many times receiving funds ? You people hate reality and hate being logical... |

EFCC pls arrest them all. Anybody who has hand in Nigeria insecurity arrest the person whoever want to cry wizard hunt can cry to hell. Every sane Nigeria knows many Northern politician and leaders are involved in this insecurity problem and that is why they want Tinubu out by all mean but we will resist them to the very end and capture all of them and lock them up. Imagine if Atiku win the presidency these useless demons will turn Nigeria to Samalia with no time wasting... I won't be surprise if one day soon Atiku name willl urface in these insurgency criminal networks. |

And what exactly does Bauchi state produce? A state that receives more from the federation account than it generates. Now, why exactly is the governor of Bauchi state sending hard currency to the head of a known terrorist organisation? Simple, to fund their operations all over the country. The guns, the weapons and ammunition the Fulani all over Nigeria are using to kill, this is how they get funded. The foreign Fulani mercenaries that are hired to come and kill in Nigeria, this is how they get paid. It is not out of place to believe that the Bauchi state governor is not the only governor in the north doing this. If democracy wasn't a charade in Nigeria, the Bauchi house of assembly would have initiated impeachment proceedings against the governor long ago. |
