6Billion is too small.

Even 600 billion would have been too small.
Re: FG Approves ₦6Bn Intervention Fund For Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges by Flets: 5:21pm On Jan 15
40B for 3MB CCTV
200B for VP residence
1.6 Trillion for INEC
150B for Judges houses and residence
11B to purchase SUVs for traditional rulers in Bayelsa

then 6B for 200 universities

Nigeria and Nigerians are not ready yet

Antoeni:
Tinubu Engaged U.S.$9million Lobbying firms to counter international narratives of "Christian genocide" in Nigeria and maintain U.S. support against terrorism.

See How Much He is Allocating For Education

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) has announced plans to disburse N6.452 billion to 271 public tertiary institutions across Nigeria under its 2026 intervention cycle.
The fund to lobby is very brilliant idea even if it is 200billion dollars since pitobi people want don't want development let us waste the money to quench the fire they escalated
Re: FG Approves ₦6Bn Intervention Fund For Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges by Originalsly: 5:24pm On Jan 15
Hmmm ..... just dashing money to each institution. Don't they have to submit plans on how the money is to be used ? Seems kike no accountability nor monitoring.. snakes arresting to swallow that money.

But ignorant wailers and Bitter Obidients are crying about the tax reforms that will further strengthen the Education sector. The problem with these wailers is that they hardly read, do their own findings or read policy documents. They simply log onto social media, pick up whatever narratives that suit them and start repeating it WITHOUT THINKING AND VERIFYING.

Have you seen ASUU come out to condemn the tax laws?. Sensible people are only laughing at the ignorant mobs crying about the tax laws they know absolutely nothing about. Poor people crying over a policy that will benefit the poor.

That was how they were also misleading the public that TETFUND will be eliminated under the new tax law. All manner of lies and misinformation against the tax law. Indeed, politics has exposed the level of HighQ of an average Nigerian.

N6,452,000,000
÷
271
= 23,808,118.081181

That's 23 million, 8 hundred thousand naira.
Haba! This is sheer wickedness.

What will a whole higher institution use N24,000,000 naira for that will make sense?

This government should try and fear God.

You people that are supporting the insulting governance of this administration should continue. Your children will bite their fingers in the country that you are creating for them.

Bola Tinubu is giving Tetfund N6B in 2026 and yet PMB gave N320B in 2023.

Just wait...your generations to come will pepper in the country you have created for them. You must surely reap whatever you sow helinues

helinues:
This current government actually focus on funding the educational sector which is something good

The opposition better know how to approach people towards 2027 as Nigerians can beat them if they make any attempt of undermining the projects people have seen or experienced under this government

Putindbutt:
Ignorance!!!. This is an intervention fund, there's already a budget for Education. There are still other intervention like TISSF, UBEC that provides a certain percentage of consolidated revenue to primary Education and Teachers at state and local government levels. All of these running into multiple billions of naira yearly.

But you're so ignorant that everything has to be criticized yet you know absolutely nothing. I think we should be collecting phones from kids as this level of ignorance is so disgraceful.

Re: FG Approves ₦6Bn Intervention Fund For Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges by Shimran(m): 5:43pm On Jan 15
The heading is misleading. On the thread, it states each of Universities, college of education and polytechnics will receive,2bn +, 2bn + and 1 bn+ making a total of 6bn interventions cap.

The total fund should be 600bn +

We're so quick to attack without analyzing.

The lot of you supporting this government on Nairaland only know how to gaslight Nigerians. When a government does well, patriotic Nigerians will promote that government. But this constant gaslighting by commenter on Nairaland, just shows that this government does not respect Nigerians at all.

What a shame!

Since you brought up Buhari, so let's compare..

This was under Buhari: they were paid in millions each:

I added a link from NUC website to back it up.

The Federal Government last Monday, 10 May, 2022, commenced the disbursement of 2022 direct intervention funds to Public Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education (COEs), with each of the universities allocated N642, 848, 138.00k, each of the polytechnics N396, 780, 086.00k and N447, 758,804.00k to each of the COEs.
https://www.nuc.edu.ng/fg-disburses-2022-intervention-to-public-varsities-others/

For Tinubu, compare to how much each institution is collecting: they're being paid in billions each

Each university would receive a total of ₦2,525,932,228.02, while polytechnics would receive ₦1,871,059,920.53 each, and colleges of education would get ₦2,056,527,973.04 each
Your hate will continue to consume you, una mind n0 g0 t0uch gr0und.

Are you indeed rejoicing over this shameful of a thing?

The same government that gave Gov. Makinde a hooping 30Bn as intervention fund for the victims of bomb plast in Oyo state? The same country that ordinary governor budgeted over 60Bn to renovate government House?

Politicians has finished this country patapata.

If giving such funds to victims who lost lives and properties was reckless, then pray that such incident happens to you and your family.

And if Govt didn't do, it's same unfortunate people that would still pick on Govt for not intervening.

If the Governor pocketed the money and was later exposed, it has only discredited his reputation. His Presidential ambition has already taken a hit.

Try and read before commenting.

At least do this for your future.

The article said:

2.5 billion for each university.
1.8 billion for each polytechnic.
2. billion each for each colleges of education.

Let me quote it for you:

...“Each university will receive a total of ₦2,525,932,228.02, while polytechnics will receive ₦1,871,059,920.53 each. Colleges of education will get ₦2,056,527,973.04 each.”

(Note: Since 1999, this government is the only one that has made conscious effort to prevent strike actions by ASUU, doctors, NLC, etc. Or you no agree grin Go and verify grin)

Now imagine some miscre@nts such as malami, Atiku, El-rufai and obi in a coalition structure of criminalities party colluding to take power from a performing president. No be juju be dat grin

Having seen the effect of the blast, 5Bn is more than enough to settle the victims.

30Bn they gave him looks like political settlement or reckless spending on the part of federal government.
