Egbaland has the greatest terrain to unleash defeat on invaders. In warfare, terrain matters a lot.

That's why US couldn't defeat the Taliban and Iran’s edge in hiding missiles and other powerful military assets inside mountains but launch the missiles from mountain tops. Same as Nepal during the defunct British empire colonial expansion.

Even before the creation of Osun State, Alaafin was above ọọni...
It was even Alaafin that made olubadan who used to just be a chief to Alaafin a king, he created that Kingdom.

Without Ibadan, there wouldn’t be an Alaafin at Ago Oja today. The new Oyo where we now have an Alaafin owns their existence to the benevolence of the Ibadan people.

Again, the Oyo that once ruled over an empire is dead. Dead and buried. It is never coming back. Alaafin’s current jurisdiction is limited strictly to Ago Oja and nowhere else. Ibadan or any other town is not under the control whatsoever of any Alaafin. In fact, Ibadan is a bigger, richer and more influential city than Oyo so it’s even the Olubadan that should be making the case for the permanent chairmanship of Oyo State council of Obas.

Before Osun state was carved out of Old Oyo state, Ooni Sijuade was the permanent chairman of the Old Oyo state council of traditional rulers. The late Alaafin Adeyemi fought Ooni Sijuade all through till the military government created Osun state in 1992.

The Olubadan and the Soun are now doing the same to the Alaafin. However, unlike Alaafin Adeyemi that was not successful in his bid to start a rotation in Old Oyo state, the Soun and Olubadan suceeded at it in the new Oyo state.

You lied there. Fulani were only stoped In Osogbo not like they already conquered any Yoruba land before the battle of Osogbo

What is this nonsense of if not for Ibadan that I keep reading!?
It's like a situation of Nigeria at war, Abuja and the president is under attack and ogun state or kogi State governor coming to his rescue etc. Take a moment to digest that.
So because Ogun State or kogi State came to the rescue of the president, then we should all worship them and place them above the president? Does that even make sense to you?

Tell me the exact pride of Alaafin that some of you keeps talking about? That a king does not stand to greet another king is now disrespect? You think kingship is about age? How will it look to you if a father is standing to greet a son or subject? Historically, All these Yoruba kings you see today were subjects to Alaafin, many were just chiefs before Alaafin made some of them kings. Royal is about culture and history, and not about age of the person on the throne or today's politics.

He needs to come down from his pedestal. Afterall, he was not even meant to be the Alaafin if not for the governor that sidelined the Oyo Mesis.
