Can you say half of what you are saying here in the presence of your pastors?

Ọmọ stop deceiving yourself it's only the pastors in fact church owners that's free to say whatever they wish but as for you guys it's only on Nairaland that you guys speak up against the teachings of your own churches that's why you can't mention the name of your churches unlike i who boasts before anyone that i am one of Jehovah's Witnesses!🙂
I can go anywhere and say what I'm saying here including other sections of NL and even JW gatherings. But you can't even dare venture into other sections of NL. So sad

I am a non-JW Christian. That's all you need to know and that's all you care about. Denominations mean nothing to you!

What did Jesus say Christians should do to whoever turns against the faith?🙂

I don't remember him giving a command about that. Remind me. I tend to remember him talking about those who refuse the gospel, not apostates.

I asked if you can say any of the things you are saying here in your churches?🙂

I told you it's only here that i relate with people on Nairaland which means apart from matters relating to faith you can't find me in fact even on the Muslim section.

So when many of you were swearing to comment on the Muslim section i laugh because there is nothing that can make me comment on any other section except here where faith in Christ is requested!🙂

Read Matthew 18:15-17 and tell me what you think Jesus is saying there! smiley

Here is what it says -

15 “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.”

Now tell me how Jesus said we are to treat pagans and tax collectors. And how he treated them himself.

PS: This does not talk about apostates.

A brother according to Jesus is someone with whom we share the same faith {Matthew 12:46-50} so if such a person did what is wrong going by the norm his fellow believer who knew about it should meet him one on one to settle it but if the offender still feels he's not wrong then two other fellow believers should be taken along so as to remind the offender what we agreed upon as norm if he still disagree then the body of congregation elders will step in but if he still disagree with the body of elders then all Christians should treat such a person the way Jews do treat a tax collector: SHUN him!🙂

What a useless question. You've already been told I'll say what I'm saying here anywhere. It's you that don't dare venture beyond JW.
Do you think it is only here that Christianity is discussed? My thread on travel section that just made Frontpage, some people are arguing Christianity is why Nigeria has lower suicide rate than US/UK. Like that, sections and topics intersect. Christianity is not only discussed in this section! But how would you know!😁

It talks about them sinning, not about turning against the faith, and everyone sins.

Sinning is exactly what makes people turn against the faith nah because when someone chooses to go against the norms of the faith and refuses to accept he's wrong it's a sin against God's holy spirit!🙂

And that's what marks you too narrow and limited a person to be participating in the arguments you participate in. You should just state your narrow opinion and stop. You just don't have the broad view to be arguing anything💌

Shunning is the punishment that replaced stoning an offender in ancient Israel. Deuteronomy 18:18-21
Jesus explained the process that should require shunning an unrepentant wrongdoer {Matthew 28:15-17} and first century Christians did just so! Romans 16:17; 2John 10-11
So i asked the question again:
Do you obey God's Son on this matter? John 17:14-16 🙂

So why the sudden change in 2024 (actually we know why - see it circled below - and it has nothing to do with Christ!)
What do they say to all those people who committed suicide when they were practicing "disfellowship" and "shunning". See below

You want to give yourself an unnecessary headache Christians in the first century were known for their NARROW MINDEDNESS because they only feel free to discuss anything with their fellow believers but when they are in the gathering of unbelievers they rather keep quiet or participate in talks about faith. That's exactly what you are worried about today!🙂

Funny Churchian!😃
Ọmọ we still shun unrepentant ones in our midst in fact one was announced last week. So if you don't understand what we practice just humbly ask we will never ever abandon what Jesus taught us!🙂

So knowing you don't have a broad, big-picture, holistic vuew of things, stop ARGUING with people who do! Just state your narrow, almost mindless opinion, then shut*up!
