AFCON 2025: Tunisia have offered Chelle $100,000 to dump Super Eagles – Idah

Ex-media officer of the Super Eagles, Peterside Idah, has claimed Eric Chelle is ready to quit as head coach after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

According to Idah, Tunisia have offered Chelle a $100,000 monthly salary.

The Super Eagles’ last game at the AFCON is the third-place playoff against Egypt on Saturday.

Idah believes that apart from the financial package, Tunisia’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup could also be tempting for Chelle.

He told Channels TV: “I hear he wants to go to Tunisia.

“They have offered him a $100,000 per month. Not just that, he will make a name and that name is being a coach of a World Cup side.”

Chelle isn't a fantastic coach...

At best average. But I wish him well... it's an opportunity to improve his worth and boost his CV.

Playing at the world cup is a bonus. If I was him I would take the offer.

Nothing significant he can achieve with the SE team again especially with all the back and forth of the nff!

Chelle will be a Super addition to the Tunisian side, who are heading to the World Cup. Just imagine how life treats you sometimes.. He failed to qualify Nigeria for the World Cup, but now has a chance to take Tunisia to the World Cup. Life is beautiful

Any team he coaches will still collect from Super Eagles.

Those boys stepped up (mindset and effort) after the WC Qualifiers failure. That's what made the difference in AFCON.

We need a tactician that can make good adjustments in a match. DR Congo and Morocco shouldn't have dominated us for long periods with the right subs.

He did everything right.

His results are 5 wins and 2 draws at Afcon. He wasn't going to kick penalties for the Super Eagles.

I remember Nigerians were already calling for his head, just after a few matches. Nigerians are notoriously impatient and never play the long game. I hope he accepts the Tunisia offer, let him go to where he would be appreciated

See golden opportunity that comes once or twice in a coaching career....coach a team to the world cup finals!

He will take it, that's why he was nonchalant at the press interview concerning his future with the super eagles.

But a coach is as good as his players.

He was a coach of a club side in Algeria and still under contract. When the opportunity came to coach the SE Plus or minus was done and we had me as a coach.

Chell was like Steven keshi who motivated and inspired our super eagles to win our last Afcon.

One thing I have noticed about our boys is that they need motivation to win and if you re a coach like Olisheh and finidi you can’t succeed with that attitude.
You can see how the players were playing with their heart under chelle.
