The mother of 13-year-old Anu, the girl at the centre of a renewed paternity controversy involving Afrobeats star David Adeleke (Davido), has publicly broken her silence, making fresh claims about her past relationship with the singer and the DNA tests previously referenced by him.

In a lengthy post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the woman, identified as Ayo Labinjoh, alleged that she met Davido 13 years ago while working as a waitress, insisting that their relationship resulted in the birth of her daughter. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Labinjoh strongly rejected labels often attached to her online, stating that she has prioritised her daughter’s mental and emotional wellbeing, especially following years of alleged bullying.

She claimed her daughter suffered severe emotional distress, including fainting in school and undergoing psychotherapy, as a result of the prolonged paternity controversy.

“I am very protective of my daughter’s mental health after the level of bullying she went through for years,” she wrote.

Addressing Davido’s assertion that multiple DNA tests had shown he is not Anu’s father, Labinjoh alleged that the results were manipulated or falsified.

According to her account, a DNA test conducted in 2014 did not follow proper procedures, claiming that her daughter’s blood sample was allegedly discarded and that a false result was later produced. These allegations, however, remain unverified.

She further disputed earlier claims that she selected the testing facility, insisting that the process was controlled by Davido’s family.

Labinjoh stated that she is now seeking an independent and transparent DNA test, proposing that it be supervised by officials from the United States State Department through the US Embassy in Lagos or Abuja.

She based this request on her claim that Davido is a US citizen, arguing that international oversight would ensure credibility and fairness.

In her post, the woman further alleged that Davido recently contacted her daughter directly, making threats and using abusive language — claims that have not been independently confirmed.

She maintained that her daughter is not seeking attention or financial gain but is simply fighting for her identity.

“My daughter is not fighting for money. She is fighting for her identity,” she wrote.

As of the time of filing this report, Davido and his representatives have not issued an official response to the latest claims.

The renewed controversy has reignited debate across social media, with many Nigerians calling for restraint, protection of the minor involved, and resolution through private, legal, and professional channels rather than public exchanges.
