I did set up an account with DLM Asset Management for a fixed income fund. I'll distinguish between the CardinalStone rate and theirs.

This DLM isn't popular but I just checked, they are legit and only rebranded to DLM in 2014.

Hopefully, they gives you better rate.

They also have an amazing trading interface, but I will stick to CardinalStone and use them for fixed income funds.

I registered on cardinalstone & I want to buy some stocks there for long term. Do I need to trade & buy stocks on the platform before I can get my CSCS number?

They just replied to to me as I am trying to move my funds from MMF to a fixed-income fund. Try and drop me a personal message on Monday with your email and name so I can send them an email with your details and also include you in the email as well.
Just created an account with cardinal stone but upon trying to open the app, username and password is being requested and I can't remember the point at which I created that. Kindly help.
Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 10:08am On Jan 17
You can't execute any trade without the CSCS, so you have to wait until you have it. The CSCS and CHN will be assigned to you automatically.

Request for password reset using the app; I hope you didn't forget your email. You need to sign in with your registered email and the password you used in signing up. Your username is your email address.

Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 11:19am On Jan 17
90 days means your money will be locked up. However, if you withdraw, they will deduct out of your interest. Moreover, this is not like MMF; if you want to withdraw, make sure that rate is higher on that day. If you withdraw at a lower rate, you will lose money.

This is very important, how do I make sure that the rate for a particular day is high? Biko, give us your tips and tricks boss
Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 7:32pm On Jan 17
The rate is displayed daily in the app. For example, today's rate is 1.5078, and the next day rate is 1.8017; you should choose 1.8017, as it is higher. Always choose a higher rate for redemption.

Hello EquityM, since these equity mutual funds are at their ATHs, would you still advise investing in them?

What about the Balanced fund?

I researched the outcomes of investing in both, and the investing in an equity fund will yield a higher interest, the balanced fund can cushion the effects of market correction with the investment in fixed income instruments.

Also, following the initial poll on where to invest 100m, wouldn't investing 100m in an equity fund be risky at this time?

And with the new SEC directive affecting Capital Market Operators, will you be stick with Cardistone or an assets managing with a large capital base, e.g Stanbic?

Aren't you aware that CardinalStone is bigger than Stanbic undecided undecided undecided

Investing 100m
For capital growth, split the money 40:20:40;
40% for mmf, 20% for fixed income and 40% for equity.
That way, you have full control over your assets. For emergency fund, 40% in mmf got you covered. 20% in fixed income balances your portfolio and you don't need to be scared of whatever happens in equity (up and down movement of equity fund). 40% in equity grow your funds and makes you achieve your set target easily.
Putting these three together is what those assets managers call balanced fund. So you can create a balanced portfolio for yourself depending on your risk tolerance. You don't have to do 40:20:40. You can also do 50:30:20. Everything boils down to you and what you want.

You asked 4 questions in one.

1- Equity at all time high?

Hard to really determine all time high in Equity mutual funds because it's progression is steady growth over the years, sure you get dips when the Stock market crashes but Equity bounces back faster than individual stocks.

This is why, it's is regarded as a long term investment. And one stock in that basket of funds can boost your investment.

2 - Balanced Fund

Some Equity mutual funds can be regarded as balanced fund expecially when half of the fund is stocks and the other half is fixed income or money market. United Capital Equity fund is a good example.

If you don't want to be fully exposed to only Equity mutual fund fearing it's at all time high, you can choose to invest in balanced fund where returns is lesser than full equity fund but in the event of correction, you will recover faster. Another strategy is to buy fixed Income fund alongside your equity fund.

3- Investing 100M in Equity at this time.

(I choose to withhold complete answer to this question because I am currently writing a book on this on how to mitigate risk like how Billionaires do)

But to be vague with my reply — Don't go in with 100M if you don't have a strategy in place.

Go in with an amount that you wouldn't lose sleep over.

4 - Which Asset management to stick with due to new recapitalization policy.

Recapitalization or not, As long as you are dealing with a sec approved Asset management, your fund is safe. However, to best put your mind at rest, you can choose a fund manager based on their balance sheet, the bigger the balance sheet, the more it will be regarded as too big to fail and such AUM usually undergo more scrutiny by SEC because SEC is after protecting investors fund not the Asset managers.
Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 10:42pm On Jan 18
Your questions have already been answered. Why would you go all in on equity? Equity is for long-term growth. Kindly split your portfolio into MMF, fixed income, and equity. If you are a conservative investor, fixed income funds and MMF take 60M, while equity takes 40M. Never go all in on equity, although it rewards those who are patient; however, it is risky and requires a lot of patience.

CardinalStone had already had earlier crossed the N1 trillion mark within the same trading year, making it the first broker to exceed both thresholds in a single period and cementing its position as the NGX’s largest broker by transaction value. Thus, you have no worries. I guess your questions have been answered by others. Split your portfolio 40/40/20 or 60/40. For me, I like taking a little bit of risk. 60/40. Equity/60, fixed income funds, and others 40.

Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 4:30am On Jan 19
I don't have an answer to that; however, make sure the fintechs you put your money into have fund managers that are capable of meeting the SEC demand. Fintechs act as middlemen; if the fund managers mess up, your money is off.
