A Muslim lives between hope and fear i.e hope in the mercy of Allah and fear of meeting Him with a bad ending. This balance is necessary, especially when we reflect on the frightening warning in the well-known ḥadīth. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Indeed, one of you may do the deeds of the people of Paradise until there is only an arm’s length between him and it, then what has been written overtakes him and he acts with the deeds of the people of Hell and enters it…” This ḥadīth should humble us. It teaches that what matters most is how we end, not how we begin or how people see us today. Because of this, the Sunnah teaches us to constantly ask Allah for a good ending. Among the beautiful supplications is: اللَّهُمَّ أَحْسِنْ عَاقِبَتَنَا فِي الْأُمُورِ كُلِّهَا، وَأَجِرْنَا مِنْ خِزْيِ الدُّنْيَا وَعَذَابِ الْآخِرَةِ Allāhumma aḥsin ʿāqibatanā fī al-umūri kullihā, wa ajirnā min khizyi ad-dunyā wa ʿadhābi al-ākhirah. “O Allah, grant us a good ending in all our affairs, and protect us from the humiliation of this world and the punishment of the Hereafter.” So let us not rely on our past deeds.. Let us persist in repentance, humility, and du‘ā. Let us frequently ask Allah for ḥusn al-khātimah. May Allah grant us a good ending and cause us to meet Him while He is pleased with us.

May our end be when Allah is pleased with us! |
| Re: A Prayer For A Good Ending (ḥusn Al-khātimah) by Pootle: 1:37pm On Jan 16 |
AntiChristian:that hypocritical prayer as it was a command from ya prophet (47:4) When you meet the unbelievers (in battle), smite their necks until you have crushed them, then bind your captives firmly; thereafter (you are entitled to) set them free, either by an act of grace, or against ransom, until the war ends. That is for you to do. |
| Re: A Prayer For A Good Ending (ḥusn Al-khātimah) by AntiChristian: 2:40pm On Jan 16 |
Pootle:What's the contexts of that? So, when you meet (in fight Jihad in Allah's Cause), those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, i.e. take them as captives). Thereafter (is the time) either for generosity (i.e. free them without ransom), or ransom (according to what benefits Islam), until the war lays down its burden. Thus [you are ordered by Allah to continue in carrying out Jihad against the disbelievers till they embrace Islam (i.e. are saved from the punishment in the Hell-fire) or at least come under your protection], but if it had been Allah's Will, He Himself could certainly have punished them (without you). But (He lets you fight), in order to test you, some with others. But those who are killed in the Way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost, Even in what you quoted painted in red above, we can see it was a war! Are we playing in war? Compare this with: How are beautiful war captive women to be treated? Memory Verse 1 - Deuteronomy 21:10-15 When you go to war against your enemies and the LORD your God delivers them into your hand and you take them captive, if you see a beautiful woman among them, and you desire her and want to take her as your wife. then you shall bring her into your house. She must shave her head, trim her nails, and put aside the clothing of her captivity. After she has lived in your house a full month and mourned her father and mother, you may have relations with her and be her husband, and she shall be your wife. And if you are not pleased with her, you are to let her go wherever she wishes. But you must not sell her for money or treat her as a slave, since you have dishonored her. Memory Verse 2 - 1 Samuel 15:2-3 This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘I witnessed what the Amalekites did to the Israelites when they ambushed them on their way up from Egypt. Now go and attack the Amalekites and devote to destruction all that belongs to them. Do not spare them, but put to death men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and donkeys.’” Memory Verse 3 - Numbers 31:17-18 So now, kill all the boys, as well as every woman who has had relations with a man, 18but spare for yourselves every girl who has never had relations with a man. |

Pootle:Where are the religions mentioned in the Bible? There is no religion in you Bible! Only One God throughout! Apostasy is punishable by Death - Na so Yahweh say o! 1. Deuteronomy 13:6-10 (NIV) "If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, ‘Let us go and worship other gods’... do not yield to them or listen to them. Show them no pity. Do not spare them or shield them. You must certainly put them to death. Your hand must be the first in putting them to death..." This passage commands the death penalty for anyone who tries to lead others into idolatry. 2. Deuteronomy 17:2-5 (NIV) "If a man or woman living among you in one of the towns the Lord gives you is found doing evil in the eyes of the Lord your God... worshiping other gods... then you must bring them to your town gate and stone them to death." This law prescribes stoning for those who commit apostasy by worshiping other gods. 3. Leviticus 20:2-5 (NIV) "Say to the Israelites: ‘Any Israelite or any foreigner residing in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to Molek is to be put to death... I myself will set my face against that person and will cut them off from their people...'" This passage condemns idolatrous practices associated with apostasy, with the death penalty. 4. Joshua 7:19-26 (Story of Achan) Achan’s sin of taking forbidden items and causing Israel’s defeat is treated as a form of apostasy, and he and his family are put to death. 5. 1 Kings 18:40 (NIV) "Then Elijah commanded the people, 'Seize the prophets of Baal! Don’t let anyone get away!' They seized them, and Elijah had them brought down to the Kishon Valley and slaughtered there." This event shows the execution of false prophets who led people into apostasy. |

AntiChristian:What's your reason for quoting old testament that contemporary Christians don't practice. Are you trying to justify your act? The dude has told you it's old testament and new testament doesn't allow it anymore. Now your asking who instructed it, if it's Sango or what. Straying from the argument. And what if it's Sango that wrote it. Isn't it ok, irrespective of who ever commanded it, that they no longer practice it as christians in 2026? What's your business with who commanded in old and new testament? |
| Re: A Prayer For A Good Ending (ḥusn Al-khātimah) by AntiChristian: 11:35am On Jan 17 |
FaAbData:My business is that God of the old testament said he is one, the same yesterday, today and forever! If that is true why did He give laws to kill many people back then? And why haven't Christians blamed Him for those killings in the past but blames terrorists doing same today? Hypocrisy! ![]() |

| Re: A Prayer For A Good Ending (ḥusn Al-khātimah) by Nobody: 12:54pm On Jan 17 |
AntiChristian:That should not be your problem. It's their problem, let them deal with it. They have moved on from those act, reasons best known to them . You should try to move on too instead of using their past deeds to justify your current act in 2026 |
| Re: A Prayer For A Good Ending (ḥusn Al-khātimah) by AntiChristian: 5:44am On Jan 18 |
FaAbData:There's a reason the past deeds were written down! And those past deeds were said to be written under the inspiration of the Holy spirit! If holy spirit could inspire such carnage then why do Christians blame Boko haram, IPOB and others for doing less that what their God had commanded before? |
| Re: A Prayer For A Good Ending (ḥusn Al-khātimah) by Nobody: 11:31am On Jan 18 |
AntiChristian:Oga! you seems to be obsessed with faulting why the old testament said it should be done and then the new said it shouldn't be when it's same holy spirit. And I don't want to explain that to you. Please convert and find out yourself or leave them alone with their change bof belief- it shouldn't be your headache. The reality now is that they have moved far from it. But you have refused to move from on, instead you use their past deeds to try to justify your current bad deeds |

| Re: A Prayer For A Good Ending (ḥusn Al-khātimah) by honesttalk21: 10:47pm On Jan 21 |
FaAbData:Terrorism is carried out by violent Islamist groups, not by Islam as a religion or by Muslims as a community. Mixing these concepts is both analytically incorrect and morally wrong, as it supports extremists by reinforcing their viewpoint. Islamists are political thinkers who believe that Islam should serve as a complete governing system, with the state, laws, and society aligned with their interpretation of divine authority. They oppose secularism, pluralism, and equal rights for those who disagree, justifying coercion and in extreme cases, violence as a religious obligation to impose or protect this system. Therefore, terrorism is not just a misrepresentation of Islam, but rather a result of the extreme fusion of faith and power found in Islamism, which is separate from Islam as a faith and Muslims as individuals. |
| Re: A Prayer For A Good Ending (ḥusn Al-khātimah) by Nobody: 7:30am On Jan 22 |
honesttalk21:I agree with you, terrorist are Muslim extremist. But in the very list, they're first Muslim- this is what I am, and you should be bothered about. |
| Re: A Prayer For A Good Ending (ḥusn Al-khātimah) by honesttalk21: 7:50am On Jan 22 |
FaAbData:Referring to terrorists as Muslim extremists focuses on identity rather than the underlying cause; the violence stems from Islamism, a political ideology, rather than Islam itself. This misunderstanding is frequently fueled by extremist propaganda, oversimplified media narratives, and geopolitical interests that profit from merging Islam with Islamism. It's crucial to maintain this distinction to undermine the legitimacy of extremists. Individuals are primarily responsible for their own actions, as stated in the Qur'an no soul bears the burden of another (Qur'an 6:164). Belief cannot be forced upon anyone (Qur'an 2:256); instead, guidance should come through advice and personal example rather than imposing beliefs or practices. It is God's responsibility to judge people's faith, not for individuals to regulate it. |
| Re: A Prayer For A Good Ending (ḥusn Al-khātimah) by Nobody: 8:21am On Jan 22 |
honesttalk21:Baba, stop trying to gaslight me with grammar. You can't be a pope when you're not a Catholic. You're first a Muslim before being an Islamic extremist. |
| Re: A Prayer For A Good Ending (ḥusn Al-khātimah) by honesttalk21: 9:15am On Jan 22 |
FaAbData:Identity is not the same as cause. Being Muslim does not mean that violence is a part of Islam, it's actually a result of Islamism. Similarly, crimes committed by Christians do not represent Christianity, just as acts of terror by Muslims do not reflect Islam. Making this distinction undermines the legitimacy of extremists and holds individuals accountable, as the Qur'an itself emphasizes (6:164, 2:256). |
