If he had asked nicely, they would have let him have bases there. The USA was part of NATO, they could have had bases there easily, because they already have bases all over Europe and it would have benefitted everyone save Russia.

Iamzik, if China and Russia already have military bases on Greenland, there would be no war in Ukraine. They don't have anything there, it's too close for comfort to USA. Remember, there was a Cold War for decades where everyone though USSR would nuke them like USA nuked Japan. Why would they let Russia encircle them like that, with that threat?

China and Russia have no military presence on Greenland. The United States has military bases on Greenland and Denmark and Greenland say they are happy for them to have more bases, but no change in sovereignity.

Engagements with someone that doesn't care. He should have said that Europe is ready to defend Greenland at all costs. That would have been more authoritative. Trump's statements did not give room for any ambiguity. He leaves no one in doubt about his intentions. He has said it that he either takes Greenland land through peaceful means or by force. EU should equally said that either they let Greenland go through peaceful negotiations or they hold it by force. The message would have been clearer. I just want to hear one statement from the EU leaders and that statement is: "As a union, we stand in solidarity with the people of Greenland and Denmark and would help to defend any territory of EU at any cost". With this, we know that all options to defend Greenland are on the table.

Your submissions are that of my friend and university colleagues, he is currently a US soldier and has been a staunch advocate for DT before and after the elections until recently. All I do is just laugh at him, pointing out his errors. DT has totally ruined the US, but as a supporter of an idea, you won’t notice until it hits you somewhat differently.

Same thing is happening here in Nigeria. Supporters of the current president don’t care what kind of dirt comes out the woodwork as long as it doesn’t get to them, until it gets to them. “I support the president, not the constitution” nonsense!

It’s unfortunate that it has come to this but truth be told, Denmark cannot protect the arctic circle region. America cannot gamble with its security by subletting parts of it to the incompetent EU. China or Russia can put up spies/intelligence equipment, sleeper cells or even partner with Greenlanders to compromise US security as we saw with Venezuela.

Greenlanders should be at the forefront of the discussion, and an economically suitable deal made. The EU should not insert themselves in the discussion.

America cannot go to war without ensuring all doors are locked. But the economic gains should be shared by all concerned parties.
