I don't think it has to do with the budget, because the number of the recruitment has been approved in the current budget. However, the next budget will take months to be signed by Mr president.

I was told SEC has concluded sharing APLs, created a WhatsApp group of about 100 new recruits and that resumption is scheduled for 2nd February 2026. How true is this please

Only God knows that but if no any tangible thing beyond January, just forget it and move on.

Because no one will tell you the reason, not even your sponsor so you are indirectly being told to forget it.

They've expanded the current budget to March and after that they would continue with the next budget, however this issue is not about the budget until you hear from inside.

If you are counting on the 2026 budget for recruitment this year, then you should look elsewhere. 2024 budget was extended till December of last year. Over 70% component of 2025 budget has been moved to this year. So before you will see implementation of the 2026 budget, that would be till at least the last quarter of this year

Unfortunately, as at now, only slot candidates are getting attention, and they are still very many that are yet to be called. This includes both entry level and EH.

Not at all, it doesn’t affect them. FIRS is self funding, the only money they received from 2025 budget was for the completion of their new headquarters building.
