The referee and the VAR are responsible for what happened tonight. The Senegalese goal was legal, but disallowed by both officials. Now, a penalty can be awarded, but it must not be.

A little situational intelligence would have told the referee that he should not award a penalty in a situation where he had clearly denied the opposing team a clear goal in the final of a tournament, and then award a penalty that is purely discretionary, when one considers that the player clearly dived inside the box with only two minutes before the final whistle. Senegal no longer have the time to make up the deficit.

This was a very poor decision, and I support Senegal's stance. They are being robbed.

This is exactly what I keep saying. It was a clear penalty. But u know Nigerians, they are very emotional.
The law is any touch down in the box is a penalty. The Senegal goal was disallowed because there was a push before the goal and the player who made the push was who scored.
The ref did no wrong on both calls but he could have forgiven the late penalty since both teams were already entering extra time. Were the calls right? Yes, it is in FIFA rule. They were soft calls but valid and he had the choice of saying Yes or No to both calls.

What makes that Gueye strike even better is that it gives Morocco plenty of time to respond.

So often extra time is a boring, drawn-out affair, but now the hosts have got to go for it. And that will leave gaps for Senegal to get an all-important second goal.

You are not a wise person. It is obvious that guy was asked to miss that penalty deliberately. If he had scored it and Morocco wins, it wouldn't be an honourable win and for decades to come, that won wouldn't be rated at all.
