I disagree . The Senegalese team are good but that Eagles could not withstand them is taking it too far
A Group stage game is different from a Must win game

This is not out of love or patriotism for Super Eagles

The Senegal team played exactly the same pattern as the SE against Morocco
For the first 90 minutes
Extra time was a different game

The main difference was their defence line was a bit higher up the field

That makes it easier to score against them though they are more positive

Morocco had several chances to score, but failed to convert
Morocco could have won it they were not wasteful
Morocco are a strong team but they were more negative today

Watching the highlights now, the reaction of the Senegalese players after Mendy saved the PK look suspect.

I mean, even fpr penalty saves during the first half of even league matches, you can see the jubilation, element of surprise and adrenaline jumps. But it's surprising that the Senegalese players just ran back to the centre to continue the game; more like the outcome was already known and the PK was just a formality. None of the players jumped on the keeper to celebrate. He only pointed to the sky and game on.

I mean, your keeper just saved a PK in the last minute of a final. I expect more wild reactions.

Nope, they didn't agree to lose in extra time. It was 50/50 to anybody. But, had Morocco won it with that pk, they would have been a public and worldwide backlash and discrediting of their winning. Infact the trophy would look tainted to them. So in spirit of fair play, that has to be done and hope they win it fair and square in extra time
