Boss tetralogyfallot

I've been an avid follower of this thread for so long that when it comes to top lithium dealers, you name comes to my mind.

Don't let this issue drag further. Kindly tesolve this matter ASAP. There are untold number of potential customers viewing this thread

Your response and attitude should be one that strengthens your reputation, not destroy it.

The story doesn't look good from your end.

[quote author=bkuranga post=138146291]Bro, this whole stuffs started from tetralogyfallot ( MOHAMMED IDRIS ADAMU) sending me a 2.5KWH battery pack after we agreed on a 5KWH.

I have done business with this brother before oh but this story km hearing is worrying and very bad to my hearing. Please Idris resolve this issue Asap, this brother seems badly hurt by what has transpired.

I just got a PWM souer cdrge controller of 30A for a LifePO4 battery of 50Ah and panel of 200W 18v(12v). Any advice boss and do you think I can manage with the pwm since I can't afford mppt for now?

The Charging and power of pwm can be adjusted for desired battery type (3 battery types are supported by the config on the CC)

Assuming your battery is a 12v battery pack (my guess), the capacity is 12.8v * 50ah = 640wh

Now you have a 200W panel. A PMW just like a buck converter steps down the panels output voltage to around 14.5v to charge the battery (a lifePO4 12v battery voltage is full at 14.6v).

Assuming your single panel outputs 70% of its rated power = 0.7 x 200w = 140w (very unlikely from my experience), it will take about 4.5 to 5 hours (640wh/140w) of full sunlight to charge from 0% to 100% as long as you're not using the system while it's charging.

A PWM doesn't step down voltage the same way a buck converter does.

But it does step down voltage to suit battery max. Also handles cut off at both extremes

Thank you for the analysis. My concern is with the PWM charge controller though.

So far, battery seems to be charging fine with minor load (a rechargeable fan and two phones) during the day.

I'm just hoping that the PWM CC will not wear out the LifePO4 sooner.

Yes it does, but I think the difference is in how they (CC Vs buck converter) handle the step down.

PWM steps down voltage but does not convert the left over voltage to useful current whereas a buck converter will step down voltage and boost current when necessary.

Only an mppt works similar to a buck converter.

Well sort of. It cuts or limits the voltage but doesn't step it down.

Guys I need some help. I have the following apparatus for a small solar setup.

3.2v 72AH lifepo4 battery
6V 6.3A solar panel

And

The charge controller below 👇🏼

PLEASE I need to know the exact voltage I will configure on the MPPT RANGE ADJUSTABLE SWITCH/POTENTIOMETER on the charge controller itself to safely recharge the battery.

NOTE: I set the Charge voltage to 3.65V, is it okay or should I reduce it to 3.6V?

Thanks for the help

3.50v is okay, not much capacity after 3.45v

Okay I will take this into consideration. I don't want the battery mismanaged at all so it will last long for me. I will set it's CHARGE VOLTAGE to 3.5V

Then what about the other Voltage setting for the MPPT RANGE ADJUSTABLE potentiometer? I do not know the exact value I should configure it to. Any idea on it?

As you can see from the picture it has 2 different potentiometers to set both charge voltage and MPPT range.

What of for under voltage protection? What value is ok.

I think charge voltage is max voltage you want to charge the battery to while mppt range is max current you want to charge the battery with

Okay good info. PLEASE one final question ,

Since I'm trying to recharge a 72ah battery with this charge controller rated at 13amps MPPT with a 6V 6A solar panel -

Can I safely set the MPPT range to something like 5.5 (Volts or Amps) to make it work properly for my use case?

Thanks
