I ran a check on my investment portfolio using my office AI, and I was disappointed, as I have been investing wrongly. The AI told me to start investing more in the fixed income fund, as the daily earnings can match the equity earnings if the market isn't bullish enough. Furthermore, it accelerates faster compounding that leads to steady growth than equity funds. Basically, equity needs to be locked up to do the dirty job while the fixed income fund delivers steady income and delivers more steady income during the 4 seasons peak period. Following this advice, I will go more into the fixed income for a while and top up equity gradually, especially if the market is down. It even told me if the equity market is down, it brings more money, as it can skyrocket easily.
basically what that AI just told you in one sentence is; Balance your portfolio such that you prioritize little little gains from Fixed income to unstable and swinging Equity.

And this is goal of every investor, getting that little interest to compound in the long run.

So what I would advise is reduce your holding on Equity, move to fixed income and let the investment on Equity grow by itself over a period of time.

There could be times where you will need to do portfolio rebalancing especially when CBN cut rate and money market yield falls, people usually rush to stocks, and that is the best time to top up your equity fund. Another way is Naira cost averaging every month end or every end of each quarter or every time a dip in marker occurs.

Yes, bro. That is what the AI told me. I should not keep checking the ASL everyday, I should let it do its thing.

As intending Equity mutual funds investor?

Is there any way we can know if the price of an aggressive equity mutual funds is currently on dip or low....so we can enter at the dip or bearish price so one can get amazing profit when it becomes bullish or go up in price?
Re: Equity Investment. by shedrack7: 9:15am On Jan 20
I want to ask, the cardinal fixed income % we are seeing on the dashboard, is it daily or annual % ?
Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 9:24am On Jan 20
There is a daily rate return in the app; once you subscribe to the equity fund, you are going to see if it is green or red. Too much red in a week means the market is bearish. Furthermore, the YTD will indicate if it is up or down. Last week it was 7+ YTD; right now, it's 6.45 YTD.

Use the mobile web; the app does not display all the rates accurately. The price is the current rate.

If you always time the market you will lose, because for how long do you want to continue to do it?

If that was possible, Experts traders who manage Equity mutual fund will not bother with Equity at all.

They will just tell investors to bring money so they help them trade stocks because they can always beat the market using your strategy.

It's not possible except you an expert trader who pick stocks using technical and fundamental analysis and even those expert guys don't win all trades.

The fastest way to lose money is Crypto futures trading and the second fastest way to loose money is trying to beat the equity/stock market short term and third fastest way to lose money is Betting as a novice.

Yes oo. The market should do its thing

I feel in 10 years there is no way any of us would have not doubled or tripled our investment in equity except Nigeria turns to Gaza

Ten years is too far.

If you invest 100k in January of last year 2025, you would have made between ₦135,000 and ₦155,000 by today, depending on the equity mutual fund.

Most Nigerian equity mutual funds returned roughly 35% – 55% for the year.

So, leaving your money for 2 - 3 years is 100% ROI. Your money has more than doubled.

The big boys (MTN, Bua, dang, etc) are still sleeping. Let's hope they wake tomorrow.

They are really snoring. Once they wake up, the green light is going to be back again. Let's just learn and relax for now. This January, seems sluggish.

We should see some gains tonight. Aradel is awake. I'm not sure why CardinalStone focused so heavily on GTCO. I dislike that bank, and I hope it does not harm our gains tonight.

Please i need some clarity on the note of fixed income, which fixed income investment option provided that much interest and can you state the rate if you dont mind. I have watch a good number of videos from Equity M and i am looking to increase and diversify from just MMF to Equity and Fixed income fund but from what i see around most are around 10% which is lower than MMF. Thank you

For fixed income the returns aren't sacrosanct in reality considering the underlying assets. However, the risk is low compared to equity

That’s true right now I am focused on medium to higher risk, I am trying to create a pension portfolio in the next fifteen years that would remove the need for me to work, just focus on investing and reinvesting any additional funds I get to leverage more into my pension portfolio.

Bro, MMF is good; this group is for high-risk investors. If you can't take a risk, please don't move your funds to equity oooooooo. Equity is not 10%, and neither is the fixed income fund 10%. Both pay better than MMF but come with uncertainty.

Just invest around fixed income and equity. You can start with a percentage of your choice depending on available capital.

In the next 15 years, you will be smiling big

You can also consider mmf in instances you want more liquid funds

I already think I am fine with MMF investment already not looking to add to it anymore. I am looking for more pragmatic offers like Equity, I have reviewed some equity funds and some have gone 400 to 300% in 6 years which isn’t bad
Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 7:20pm On Jan 20
Fixed income funds are mostly bonds. Bond rates vary across all channels; thus, you might make good earnings today and tomorrow a tiny earning. You make a profit from dividends, coupons, and discounts throughout the year. Moreover, the return is not as stable as MMF; nevertheless, your earnings are higher but with uncertainty, as the rate is unstable. If you are willing to grow your money, you can split your funds. 40/20/40. You can open an account with CardinalStone or any other fund manager.

We have 0.57% increment for Equity
We move again tomorrow

How's fixed income bearish at your end? Here, with Stanbic Enhanced fixed income, the daily rate has been consistent, although not as high as your daily rate.
Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 7:29pm On Jan 20
The rate is bearish today, as I only made 300+. The government just auctioned TB, thus making the rate lower today. Tomorrow might be better. Equity is starting to get on track; we will need to be patient as this market is tricky.
