Further to the above link, I decided against eating same beans yesterday.

I was in a rush trying to make that post yesterday, as a result, some details were left out.
— I bought two Mudus of Milk Beans. I had earlier bought two Mudus of Honey beans, but when I got home to cook the honey beans, I noticed it had no taste at all. The Beans is so Neat and clean, but no taste.
— As a result of its lack of taste, I decided to buy the milk beans. Believe me I hadn't heard of these names(Honey and milk beans) until Monday last week.
— While I was picking and winnowing the Milk Beans yesterday, there was no smell. But as soon as I began to cook it, the smell began to erupt. I washed it with cold water four times before parboiling. After Parboiling, i still washed it like five times, still the smell didn't go away..
— I ran to a male neighbour of mine and ask him if he had had such experience with beans, he said no. He advised I threw them away.
I ran to an old woman within the neighbourhood, she said I could eat it. She even tested it. But I said I won't eat.
I threw the parboiled ones away.
I returned the remaining ones to the woman who sold to me. She didn't give me back my money and I didn't want to start dragging with her. Though she promised to do so later.

A lot of food items have been adulterated in today's market. Everybody wants to make quick quick money at the expense of the other. Eating banana and plantain now is also risky, even Fufu(Akpu), Palm oil.

The situation is really bad.

You have done the right thing. Life is more important than money. Some may actually eat it and it won't affect them but some may be affected. Just forget the money and move on.

Why not throw the beans away the moment you perceived the odour?

What causes the kerosene smell? Is it actually kerosene or some other hydrocarbon? And why do they use it?

Re: Update On The Kerosene-like Smelling Beans by Sukakma(m): 10:16am On Jan 22
It's not really kerosene you were perceiving, rather a chemical called bomb. It's kept inside beans to kill worms like bean beetles that may be found inside the beans. After a while, the bomb start smelling like kerosene

Its not just adulterated, its bio food. Product of the seeds from Bill Gates; his GMO produce and this is how they planned to depopulate Africa. Don't believe me, go to the nearest federal hospital near you and observe how many people are dying from abdominal or kidney problems.

Stay away from Tin Tomatoes, packaged food and start to plant your own grains cos majority of the food in rotation now ain't real, just like in the West.

I bought beans too and cooked in it my household but it stank so bad and changed colours. We got rid of the whole lot.

They control your natural resources and food from the North now, so they are winning

Either the kerosene was intentionally used for preservation or it was transported alongside cans of kerosene.

What plant do you use for seasoning mbok?
Re: Update On The Kerosene-like Smelling Beans by fineboynl(m): 10:25am On Jan 22
It’s pesticide to preserve the beans for longer time.

Sometimes the pesticide should warned out after 2-3 years storage. But this people might end up releasing the beans before the due date.

Beans and rice are heavily compromised nowadays. Always parboil and rinse thoroughly before continuing cooking. The kind of chemicals they use to preserve them, I believe, are illegal. But where are the regulators? Sitting and gossiping in their offices all day waiting for monthly salary.

Nigeria don cast sha. sad

Seasoning seeds produces Maggi. Norris seeds produces Norr cubes once fully grown. Saltiva plant produces salt in pods.

I'm not quite sure I understand your comment about Maggi and Norr but I recently saw videos on how to make bullion cubes/seasoning without unknown chemicals and excessive sodium/salt.
