Upon receipt of the reports, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, immediately mobilised and personally led a team of police operatives, including a team of experts from the Command's Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN), the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), and other tactical teams, to the school premises for on-the-spot assessment and security reinforcement.Showing this level of force because they know it's a secondary school and likely to be false alarm. And of cause being a rich private school has it's perks. I wish they will show the same commitment to cases of robbery, kidnaps and less privileged citizens |

| Re: Lagos Police Investigates WhatsApp Threats At Ikeja Schools by Onegai(f): 6:45am On Jan 23 |
Most of the big schools in Lagos closed early yesterday because of this. While it may be a hoax, Nigeria is so unsafe that the possibility of a bomb threat is real. Parents who sent their kids to boarding schools outside Lagos are now worried, especially when the area the school is, they don't have anyone close by to grab the kid should any security alert happen. Gone are the days when Unity Schools will send you to an area far from your location, in order to encourage you to learn about other Nigerian tribes. |

Orlandoo:Context is everything, sir. We are talking about a specific threat of violence against schools, which are known to be targets of Islamist terrorists whose name "Boko Haram" means "Western education is forbidden". As you are well aware, many schools have been attacked in various parts of Nigeria over the past few years, with students kidnapped, some of who remain missing to this day. Now, bearing in mind that this discussion topic is about a threat made to schools in Lagos, your joining the discussion only to shout the same UNIVERSAL battle cry that Islamist terror gangs scream when they attack innocent people WORLDWIDE, suggest that you are indeed a supporter of Boko Haram and a believer that Western education is forbidden, meaning that you support Islamist terror. I stand by my words that I perceive you to be terrorist sympathizer, or possibly even an active terrorist operative, because of the reasons I have cited here. If you are not a terrorist operative or sympathizer, then you MUST keep your battle cry to the section of this forum devoted to people who think like you do, so that you are not mistaken as a terrorist, and possibly even geo-located for sanctions by US military analysts. |

YoshihideSuga:Loyola is reasonably safe. Because, if you haven't noticed, these terrorists and bandits don't attack anyone of importance, including their immediate family members. Their targets are always the Middle class, not the elites or 1%. If they were truly not working with people in the govt, they would have attacked Ikoyi by now and flee via the waterways. Even this bomb threat was taken far more serious than if they had threatened to bomb FGC Ilorin. Because Grange is not for the poor. |
