STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

President Tinubu approves posting of 4 ambassador-designates
*Isa Dakingari Suleiman for Turkey

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of four ambassador-designates, out of the 68 confirmed by the Senate last December.

President Tinubu confirmed the postings of Ambassador Ayodele Oke as the ambassador-designate to France, and Colonel Lateef Are as the ambassador-designate to the United States of America.

Also confirmed by the President is the posting of Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, former ambassador to South Korea, as the high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.

Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, former governor of Kebbi, is the ambassador-designate to Turkey, where the President is scheduled to begin a state visit next week.

In a memo to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Tinubu urged the ministry to notify the governments of the four countries about the ambassador-designates, in accordance with diplomatic procedures.

France no go dey there ke? Why posting them in piecemeal? It's almost 3 years into your administration? So the likes of Reno will only end up serving for few months before the end of his tenure, if at all.

Modified: In another policy flip-flop that has become characteristic of this government, Dakingari has been dropped as Ambassador-designate to Turkey. This was barely two hours after the announcement. His name might have been sneaked in by one of the Villa boys. Is Tinubu truly in-charge of his government?

Even if Reno is posted to any "obscure" country, he remains an Ambassador for life.

The title "Ambassador" is similar to being a "Senator".

Once an Ambassador or Senator, you maintain the title even after leaving service.

You guys swore that himself and FFK would never scale through the Senate screening but today both men are Ambassador designates to your chagrin.

I remember when some persons here were rejoicing that Reno had been sidelined and were mocking him. Saying he won't be nominated for the post of an Ambassador. Guy was nominated, they said it was a set up and would be disgraced at the screening. Guy is now an Ambassador, una no wan still rest.
Even if he's posted to Iran, he's an Ambassador for life! That's not a small feat. Hate just full some of una belle. SMH undecided
