First he demanded that NATO countries increase their defense spending or he will begin to bill them for the cost of having US bases open over Europe.

The US bases according to Trump are crucial to curtail Russia invading Europe even though no such threat exists rather it is the US that has plans to use NATO to invade Russia via Ukraine which same US instigated a war with Russia.

But here is where it all gets a bit confusing when you consider that Trump invited Putin to Alaska for peace talks and has continually boasted that with him in the WH, Putin won't dare invade Europe which I must remind you that Russia had no plans of doing so.

You still don't get it. Nato wasn't created to help countries protect their borders. Nato was created as a defense pact to come to the aid of a member when it is attacked by another country. What you and Trump think will not change Nato's mandate.
