I find it interesting that jesus in His resurrected body, still had holes in his hands and side. I would think they would have fully healed over in His resurrected state. chtistians over to you, what is the illogical explanation? |

He resurrected as a spirit {1Corinthans 15:44} his human body was taken away by angels as the ultimate sacrifice for sin that is why he kept appearing to his own disciples in different unrecognizable bodies. What each person needs Jesus used to appear. In the real sense Jesus was raised with a perfect incorruptible spirit body! 1Corinthans 15:42 So if what Thomas needs to see before believing that his beloved friend, brother and master is now alive are the scars Jesus will present it to this loyal friend of his to gain him!🙂 |

Max, you said j.man rose with a spiritual body? And he ate with his apostles and got on a boat with them and Thomas put his hands in his side...... Have you ever seen a spirit before? Have you seen somebody's spirit level their body when they die? Sometimes you just throw words around thinking nobody will notice.. I do pay attention to details.. nothing passes me by. |

When God sends them to kill the first born son of the Egyptian, from our point of view, it is demonic. ..and when he sends them to bring good tidings, they are angles. They all work for God and do his bidding. There is ONLY one kingdom operating on earth and heaven and the Lord God is it's divine king. All creatures are sovereign to God. |

In Deuteronomy, he said, I place both good and evil, life and death in front of you...they have brain to think and choose, but spirit don't as soon as they step out of the body at death they forget their past life.theyare pure and like God. |

MaxInDHouse:The Ecclesiastes you quoted actually supports my point. Not yours. The spirit returns to God because it is the same image and likeness as God. And the body as it returns to the ground. So it has all the attributes you assign to God. |

Biko, I thought the exact same and was looking till I saw you said so. Thanks. My own atheist leaning would make me say the writers added it to make their story more believable because they knew the question would be asked and needed an answer. Even Jesus was written to have known this question would be asked, having "shewed unto them his hands and his side", which made the "disciples glad when they saw the Lord" way back in verse 20, which makes the repetition rhetoric if one accepts the writers, or rather, later editors of the text, used thier eyes and other senses when compiling the text. I must say that I agree that those "that have not seen, and yet have believed" must indeed be blessed somehow for not looking with their own eyes so they may see with their own lamps of their own bodies. To wit. Dear Lord God Almighty. if buda decides to not look and see, or worse still, if buda twists what buda sees to be what buda wants to see instead of what is actually presented before the eyes of buda to look at and see, do not bless buda please. Amen.

And let me add that one must be aware that the Gospel according to John is traditionally and scholarly considered to be the last of the four canonical gospels to have been written, by which time some would have read the existing gospels and asked that same question just as sonmvayina has found it interesting enough to ask it here.
