Defection: ‘i’m Not For Sale’ – Kwankwaso by Bobloco(op): 7:50am On Jan 24
The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has declared that he is not for sale after Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano state left the party.

Kwankwaso made this declaration on Friday while speaking to supporters immediately after Governor Yusuf’s exit from the NNPP.

DAILY POST reports that Yusuf on Friday officially resigned from the NNPP, citing protracted internal crises and legal disputes that he said have weakened the party’s cohesion nationwide.

Reacting, the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, said he is committed to his political ideals, declaring that he would not compromise his principles for personal gain.

According to the former Kano state governor, his long-standing political struggle had always been aimed at the emancipation of ordinary Nigerians.

I’m not for sale. Our political convictions keep me grounded. If I were in it for personal gain, I would have taken the easy route and you would be looking for me elsewhere, not in this place,” he said

Good for you Sir. I hope after the many dances you actually stay true to this claim.

We don't hold our political leaders players to any standards at all, that's why they jump around every political season like mosquitoes.

Imagine a Republican becoming a Democrat and back to being Republican and then a Democrat then a Republican again within 4 election cycle.

Stories. Who asked him whether he is for sale or not..... He's using reverse phycology to market himself.

Hehehe! And you were busy negotiating for juicy appointments in government before defecting?

That's how the conversations started after some time now we'll hear different stories of one's decamping. As for me I don't trust any political holders

Politics is a very funny game. And I take lightly that comes out from a politician's mouth.
Truly, there's no permanent friend or foe.
Nigeria Politics in particular get as e take dey.

At this point, even Agbadorians can no longer deny that their tin-god is offering money to governors to decamp to their party. As well as the prospect of neutralising their opposition in the APC by becoming the automatic candidate. It may appear too good a deal to pass up on by the governors but it has its risks. There will be too many aggrieved politicians in the ruling party whose ambitions have been scuttled in favour of the president's own ambition. It may also not translate to votes for the president come 2027. Despite APC having 25 governors in 2023, Tinubu won only 12 states, and only half of those states were APC-governed states.

He's negotiating for a V.P slot and other concessions. If money can compensate for a suitable candidate, Tinubu would run without one and wouldn't be thinking about dropping Shettima for Kwankwaso. APC lackeys may pretend but deep down, they'll throw many under the bus to get Kwankwaso.

Don't confuse having an ambition as being available for sale. Tinubu wanted to Vice Buhari in 2015 but for muslim-muslim considerations. Does it mean Tinubu was for sale?

Re: Defection: ‘i’m Not For Sale’ – Kwankwaso by Akpacha(m): 8:18am On Jan 24
When did he stop? He was bought from pdp to apc.
Re: Defection: ‘i’m Not For Sale’ – Kwankwaso by Danisaint112(m): 8:21am On Jan 24
An implosion will happen in APC that will leave Tinubu and his supporters baffled.
2027 isn't going to be funny. No one will want to go to court.

If you have the money before then, buy enough foodstocks after election (voting) just lockup because there would be violence and many will meet their maker.

Bookmark this: Tinubu will go down as the most hated president in the history of Nigeria. Even his generation will bear the brunt far more than Buhari's.

He obviously learnt nothing from the last election

Oga pls no dey whine us; every Nigerian politician has a price.

I'm not for sale, yen, yen, yen. But you have made proposals which unfortunately were not accepted by the president?
Re: Defection: ‘i’m Not For Sale’ – Kwankwaso by Gotocourt: 8:23am On Jan 24
OGA, use this opportunity to position your self in the opposition party, write your name in gold.
Re: Defection: ‘i’m Not For Sale’ – Kwankwaso by oluwaseyi0: 8:24am On Jan 24
The issue is not that you are for sale or not

The issue is that you don't worth much hence no point buying you

Exactly. Defections driven by patronage don’t equal popular support. Even in 2023, despite APC having 25 governors, Tinubu won only 12 states. That alone shows governors don’t deliver votes.

With widespread public knowledge that defecting governors are being enticed with figures like N250 billion, this strategy only breeds resentment within the party. You can buy defections, but you can’t buy the electorate

Tell Tinubu to use his money and go buy another V.P candidate na. Don't confuse having an ambition as being available for sale. Tinubu wanted to Vice Buhari in 2015 but for muslim-muslim considerations. Does it mean Tinubu was for sale?

Funny how some politicians overrate themselves. "Your aim is for the emancipation of ordinary Nigerian" You were governor for 8 years, minister, Senator...
Where is the emancipation of ordinary Nigerian? Looking at the economic conditions of ordinary Nigerians in Kano...
Re: Defection: ‘i’m Not For Sale’ – Kwankwaso by Olatundex22(m):
You can’t give what others give and you lied on your speech .
This is why all the governor is joining APC, APC Governors control their state party structures be you godfather in the state will be under him. He can only have respect for you as senior leader and if he didn’t nothing dey happen.
NOBODY will be the state governor with full immunity and people working under him will not respect him because one godfather put him there, godfather will be putting people in positions, control them because he gives them power and the governor will be paying no single respect for the governor who does that

All this buy buy talk is a big fat lie, you can only know if you’re inside. Tinubu is giving what other greedy party leader never give that’s why governor who needs to act like real Governor is joining him.

What lesson would you have wanted him to learn? He contested an election in 2023 against the tide with an unknown party in an imcumbent governed state, got a governor and over 80 elective positions all riding under own his own wave.
