ABUJA — Beatrice Ekweremadu, the wife of former Nigerian Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, has officially returned to Nigeria after being released from a United Kingdom prison. Her arrival in the country on Tuesday, January 21, 2026, follows the completion of the custodial portion of her sentence for her role in a high-profile organ-harvesting conspiracy.

Mrs. Ekweremadu was received by family members and close associates at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, marking her first time on Nigerian soil since the legal saga began in mid-2022. While her return has sparked celebrations in her hometown of Mpu, in the Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State, it comes amidst the continued incarceration of her husband in London.

I hope the young man who betrayed them is still in the UK.

This life sef....

Their only sin was what they did to save the life of their child. They had a deal with that young man to donate his kidney, he wasn't tricked into it, he would be rewarded accordingly, but he chose to betray them soon as he landed in the UK, claiming they wanted to harvest his organ.

Welcome back Madam.

You likely didn’t listen to the boys story..

The boy said the agreement was that they’ll pay him millions of Naira and they’ll enroll him to school in the Uk. But on getting to Uk, everything changed. The boy did not see any millions of naira and they didn’t take him to school. Anytime he asked about the deal, they’ll tell him to hold on and after everything, they’ll get it all started... That’s how the boy got to know that they wanted to play him. They wanted to swindle the boy but life caught up on them. UK police did their investigation and found out they’re nothing but scammers & organ harvesters..

Clearly aside from that, Ekwemeradu is also a betrayal. Person spent many years in the senate without doing anything for his people. He betrayed his people and karma used him as example..

But sha, don’t they need a kidney anymore? I wanna suggest you that is loyal and that won’t betray them to take the boys place..

Go donate your kidney..

That's not their only sin.

They have no value for the life of others.

The preferred medical donor is a relative.

None of her brothers had the kidney for it.

The law no look their face.

Story for the gods.

The reason why most countries ban the payment for organ harvesting is to prevent the exploitation of the poor. This was what was going on here..

It strictly a business transport transaction. I'm certain the man was underpaid (a kidney is priceless) and he might not have been given the true picture of things.

Please understand this: I once used to support baby factories. They have a product barren patents desperately want, one which the bio parent may be desperate sell. My only demand was that it must be well regulated by the government.

For someone with such extreme views, to now condemn payment for organs speaks volumes.

Do I support payment for organs? Yes, but the interest of the donor must be fully protected and not exploited.

But if they really wanted to save their daughter’s kidney, they should’ve made it public there in Nigeria so that Yarimo or even Helinues can give their kidneys and be paid even if it’s 500k naira, it’s better than wasting their lives defending a failed government for 30k naira

The 30k seems to be better than those that are collecting Malt & Gala with 500..

Instead of selling their future for Gala, they should donate their kidney and collect that 500k..

Wey pictures? I want to see how prison changed her. Her husband likely has muscles now from exercising religiously to stave off boredom. Did their daughter die or legitimate means were followed to secure her a donor organ? Nigerian journalists abandon stories and never perform follow ups. This is why, despite DailyMail’s racist reporting, I follow their news religiously.
