Nigeria is witnessing one of the most dramatic political migrations since the return to democracy. Politicians are not merely defecting — they are fleeing.

Governors, lawmakers, party chieftains, and entire political structures are abandoning their platforms and sprinting into the All Progressives Congress (APC), as if political survival itself has been outsourced to one party.
To many observers, the message is clear: APC has won 2027 already.
But history has a cruel habit of humiliating political certainty.
The real, uncomfortable question is this: what happens if APC loses in 2027 — after absorbing almost everyone?
That question is not hypothetical. It is explosive. And it exposes the deepest contradictions in Nigeria’s political culture.

I have always thought of this....if they looses and of course they will because the whole world will be watching..Don't forget foreign electoral observers are being bribed but this time,no way...Trump will be interested this time..if APC looses I suggest the other parties at the helm should lock their doors and start massive probe of looted funds...block the airports and water routes to prevent escape.... Build massive prisons and quicken justice. A complete sanitizing of the judicial and electoral system... Rebrand the police and the military... Declare war on terrorism and their sympathisers... In 6 months we will have peace

When genZ speaks, we the elders know. All this politicians you're seeing belongs to one "Whatsapp group". If ADC take over tomorrow, they will simply defect to ADC to protect the looted funds. The incumbent can't do much to stop them.

The defectors lack ideas and principles. APC of cause will lose and they will defect to the ADC. They are defecting to APC because they lack confidence in themselves and also don't want a robust opposition that will snatch their sits from them. They also feel threatened because they fear that the ruling party will buy INEC, the police and even the military so that them in the opposition won't stand any chance to win in the elections since the electoral body and the security operatives are compromised.So the reason they are moving to APC is not because the party is doing well but because they believe that if they are in the APC that victory is sure for them either by hook or by crook.
But this is a very unfortunate time in Nigeria because this trend brings about poor leadership and terrible economic policies because those who lack principles have nothing to offer the electorate other than enriching themselves with the tax players money and from the sells of our natural resources.
For the betterment of Nigeria our electoral laws should be reviewed and amendments made where necessary. Nigerian constitution should be reviewed so that the section that makes it easy for politicians to defect should be amended to make it impossible for them to move to another political platforms especially when elections are drawing near.
If this is done let's be rest assured that Nigeria will be better off than what we have now.If the laws make it impossible for leaders to decamp to another political platforms then they will remain in their party and work hard for the overall benefits of the entire citizenry. If they do well during their first term the people will return them if they contest for a second term while remaining in their political party.But if they didn't do well during their first tenure then the people will reject them and vote them out of the offices. When ADC win and form a new government they should review and amend the part of our constitution which makes it easy for the politicians to cross carpet and by so doing they will bring to Nigerians the much desired and anticipated changes.

The thing is this ship is not overloaded yet. I wonder why you are so desirous of a ship wreck though. If that is your prayer, it won't happen. Take care of yourself
