Nice to hear the ZTE is back, but why do you consider it the younger brother? Secondly, which IDU is it paired with as i hear it supports wifi 7?
G5F is G5 Max. G5FA is G5 Plus.

It's WiFi 7 but they pair it with a WiFi 5 router, MF296A.

Wifi 7 ke i don't think Airtel will ever give Wifi 7 Enabled router on top 50mbps and 100mbps max subscriptions 802.11be routers are so expensive

Maybe Airtel have finally done something about my constructive criticism of their nightly network issues in my area, because tonight has been fantastic. And this is usually the time the issue happens.

Abi is it generally tonight?

If you have another router that can work with the ODU plan, put the ODU SIM inside and see if the speed improves

Take it to where you bought it. They should be able to find out what the problem is and probably fix it.

The new device, you'd have to pay for it, unfortunately. But you can keep the old one too if you want.
Omo

I'm taking it there on Monday
If they can't fix it. I'm leaving the device there make they keep am

I seriously regret purchasing this thing. I so regret it. Worst purchase of the year

I'm already looking into alternatives

Mtn fibreX is not in my area but Ikonnect is. I'm going to do more research on that before making a switch

I am not using ODU....it is the Airtel router 5g.

I may test the sim with a universal router to see if it is better than the one Airtel provided.
Change the location.. till you get a better place

That device no cheap o, you should keep it.

Besides, your problem is not the device but the sim and Airtel.

1. I've tried all bands (1,3, 7, cool All of them give me good network but the same speed at 1-2 mbps

2. I don't think my area can be considered a new site, It's at egbeda, Lagos side

3 I just did a sim swap from eSIM to physical today

4. Yes, It's goes fine at about 20mbs with my normal Airtel SIM.

5. Inside, But I've tried moving it around my house and area even to another street but same thing

6. Yes
You can find your answer in points 3, 4, and 6. The problem started when you swapped from eSIM to a physical SIM. Most people around me who are having network issues are those who did a SIM swap. I’ve been telling people that if you want to enjoy your ODU, don’t swap from eSIM to a physical SIM—it’s a 50/50 risk. If you really want to enjoy your ODU, get another router SIM.
If U are getting more than 20mbps with normal Sim, that should tell you that your unlimited sim is the problem and not the odu or network

No oh. This problem has been since. Before I even got a physical SIM. It started on the 12th

Me swapping to Physical SIM was literally a last ditch effort when band locking, cell locking, moving it around didn't work. And Airtel themselves have proven unable to fix it for the past 10days now

In your own case you just need another ODU sim the problem is with your current sim it has some sort of throttling applied by Airtel

The network was a little bad at first I restart my router and boom , the network good again, wen eva U are facing bad network, restart your router, the speed will increase

If that is the case, the only solution is for you to do another Sim registration, take it back to were U got it from tell them you want to register another Sim , your odu Sim is the problem, I don't think it can be fixed because I Neva see person way get his own fixed ..they all registered another hbb Sim, and they are now enjoying it ..

Yeah my normal SIM works well with fast speed

But what do I do now? I heard that I can swap the eSIM to a normal SIM do I need to go to an Airtel Office or can I do it Roadside and the plans and bundles would carry over?
If the issue is not yet resolved, select only 4G as network mode and restart.

So i have been following the thread for awhile now and i have learnt a lot from all of u. I also want to give a small update I just discovered. So i have this m30 mifi that has wan port and i decided to use it in place of the idu so as to reduce the bulk and battery consumption when moving it around. Lo and behold, it worked like a charm and the battery now lasts way over 12hrs since it's only the odu that's now connected to it. So basically, the idu was the main culprit on the power bank since it uses dc power. This also means, if u have any mifi that has a wan port on it, doesn't matter if it's mtn or airtel, it will work.

You're using the M30 with the ZTE ODU I guess? M30 is probably not PoE capable and won't work with ZLT ODUs. Or is it Huawei?

You'd still need to charge M30 from time to time.

Yes this can work but for the later, the huawei odu consumes app. 24w while the the idu consumes 12w and for the zte the odu's even consumes more. What i did for odu(huawei) was to connect it to the poe powerbank which runs for over 8hrs+ while the idu is powered by my power bank and 12v converter usb which runs for 2days+ .

Yes, with the zte. Already had a power bank so no issues there plus i imagined a lot of people will have this.

This won't work with ZLT

Cool. It's easy to use the ZTE with most routers with WAN port.

Also, that ZLT M30 is an underrated router. My problem with it is its small battery, and it uses micro USB instead of type C. I travel with it all the time with my ODU sim.
