This is the type of cultural influence nations go to war to have - pay billions of dollars to have.

CHINA and INDIA would be looking at this and thinking ''Damn! Wish we had this type of cultural permeation power in the USA." - and yet we have some absolute dunderheads here pushing for the ''break up of Nigeria'', to become little Togos and Sierra Leones - voiceless, inconsequential, zero influence, and easy to bully by foreign powers.

Nonsense. angry

If you want Nigeria to 'break up', move to another country and break up yourself there. angry
Not a supporter of secession but you’re still voiceless, inconsequential in the grand scheme of affairs, and easily bullied by even the likes of Burkina Faso.

There are countries with 300k population whose voices matter more than Nigeria’s 240m people. I’m not trying to make you feel bad, I’m just correcting your statement.

This is just your delusion at play here. Seems you’re a tad younger than I thought.

Global geopolitics is not played the way Nigerian politics is. It’s because you’re not relevant economically, militarily, and in resource-monopoly etc that you latch on to your population for self-aggrandizement. It’s copium, and a very strange kind.

Americans are up in arms over a new trend in which their university students are now ordering NIGERIAN WEDDING ATTIRE for their 'Prom Nights' - ie their uni's annual graduation party - which is historically a really big night for American graduates.

Normally they would dress in tuxedos and silk gowns etc, but OF LATE, the story has changed.

The new trend is to dress in full Nigerian Wedding Attire.

Sometimes, the girls order ASO EBI for their friends, to spread the love on their great day.

Now Americans, already addicted to AFROBEATS, pioneered by the likes of Davido, Burna Boy, Asake, and Tems, among others, are now witnessing a new Nigerian trend taking over their society, and are yelling, ''Nigeria is colonising us! What do we do to arrest this situation before it gets out of hand?''

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QQGGZlsB3s
It is actually very sad as in Nigeria we wear our traditional attire about as rarely as non-ethnics abroad are wearing it— for special events. We need to put a serious de-colonial initiative in Nigeria before we can even consider things like this as an achievement because right now it is effectively more of a mockery.

I find this strange. Why follow me then all of a sudden reply to a random post to claim I used AI... without even giving the website of your AI detector? Anyways, your AI detector is either wrong or are you're doing something shady. I have attached a screenshot of my same post checked with Grammarly AI Detector and it gives a score of 0.

If you guys love a big United Nigeria, what is difficult in allowing equity, fairness, inclusiveness and genuine love as one people?

Why do Yorubas especially derive so much joy in saying "an Igbo man will never become President of Nigeria" yet they want Igbos to cherish them and accept to live in peace with them?

The only way Nigeria's complete disintegration can be stopped is by allowing equity, fairness, justice and togetherness to exist especially in national political matters and in nation civil service, without that, we are only wasting our time and prolonging the d-day

I got banned, right like I told that Tello619 or Tello916

Step 1, I use a uk number in Nigeria because its unlimited everything with EE

download a paid vpn and proton is the best option £8.09 per month and set it to any European country that will unlock the European play store

Step 2, download gptzero the paid version and we will know if you lie or not because it will look exactly like mine

So in summary £8.09 for the vpn and £16 for the AI detector

Of course, those are Africans but called African-Americans.

And there would have been much more cultural exchange between them and Africa if we didn't give up our native languages in exchange for European languages.

The most powerful tool would have been taking African languages there and having them speak it.

If that were the case, you could have easily stumbled on an African-American in the street of New York, California or even black Europeans in Europe speaking fluent Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Gikuyu, Zulu, Swahili, etc. If we were in our right state of mind, this would have been one of the main goal of true African literature.

But Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka and co in their naivety said no, and with the patronage of their white masters, they created the mess we live today

I support the break up of Nigeria so all regions and states can make progress. Right now, almost all states in Nigeria are struggling. Even in Lagos, there are more frustrated people there. The different languages we speak is a curse to us. We don't see ourselves as one. Let's break up and experience peace. The tribal war is too much—offline and online.
If you are given pen and paper to draw the map of your region now, aside the 5 shithole glorified villages that Tinubu is turning to viable states, you will include Benue, Rivers, Cross River, Akwa ibom and even Edo claiming that they are part of some old Eastern region.
Everyone wants you to go and if tomorrow you guys decide to move to your region without a fight we will all be glad provided you won't be covetous of other regions

You cannot think beyond tribe, Obi and Tinubu. This has nothing to do with the issue at hand. I didn't read the rest of the stuff you wrote.

Nigeria is not working and can never work because it's not designed to work. In fact, those who benefit from the dysfunctional country have wired you to defend it with your might on Nairaland.

We have been hearing that this country will work since 1960. How many years did it take the Singaporeans or Emirates to build their country or the Chinese to build their country? Many people have dysfunctional brains in this country.

You are probably a Gen-Z with high hopes of a working country. But if you are a millennial, then you are a big dis grace.

PS: I know you are doing your job here. I've made my point and won't reply to you again.
I have always told you that your username is an irony, you are soo so far from anything smart....
Countries that existed before the time of Christ these are counter you are comparing to Nigeria that came together about a hundred years ago.
Or you don't know how long the Arabs ran this world or how long the Chinese Empire has existed.... Smart should have not place around your name

CULTURAL COLONISATION IS OFTEN MORE PIVOTAL THAN MILITARY PROWESS.

RUSSIA has nukes, but you can bet your bottom dollar VLADIMIR PUTIN would love for RUSSIAN FASHION/MUSIC/CULTURE to take over America, for ALL sorts of reasons.

WHY IS THE ''MILITARILY & AND ECONOMICALLY RELEVANT'' AMERICA ABANDONING ITS ENGLISH GOWNS AND TUXEDOS FOR NIGERIAN ATTIRE, AND GETTING HOOKED ON NIGERIAN MUSIC, CULTURE AND EVEN FOOD, AND RUSHING TO NIGERIA FOR DETTY DECEMBER EVERY DECEMBER??

CRY MORE, HATER...

Mr. Unity begger, shut the FU. Gush! All these long trash just to beg to remain together? Your region may become a "Tiny Republic nobody cares about" but not the Igbo nation pls.

Pls grow up and realize that One Nigeria is a scam. I'm certain you a head slammer, Cos na una wey dis break-up dey fear pass, as una get islamisation plans, and break-up will scatter that plan.

Kemetian:
VERY IGNORANT YOU ARE.

If you are not smart enough to see the long-term benefits of cultural hegemony, go back to Primary School.

If Nigerian fashion becomes global, who benefits? Not Nigerians??

Is that not JOBS for Nigerian designers, and growth potential for textile industries?

Myopic people with no sense.

''Unworkable union'' yet 30 million Igbos have fled the east to live inside that ''unworkable union'' refusing to return to Umuahia and Awka.

Go and get a JOB and stop disturbing people with your nonsense.

.
.

Always 'Singapore'. There are 205 countries on Earth, 80% of which are developing countries.

None of them have become ''SINGAPORE'', because ''SINGAPORE's'' rise was unique, and driven primarily by the free and open access to western markets granted it for its manufactured goods, plus free technology transfer after WW2, since the west WANTED it to be a capitalist 'tiger' alongside 4 or 5 others there like Taiwan, South Korea, etc, to help checkmate growing Soviet communism in the Asia Pacific, in the post - WW2 era.

Without that strategic western interest, 'SINGAPORE' would be no different from its surrounding, struggling western-ignored neighbours and brothers - Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Phillipines, Nepal, Mongolia, North Korea, and other strugglers, you NEVER mention.

And when you create you little banana republic, you will NOT get the western market access or technology transfer SINGAPORE did, and you would be a poor, broke place like South Sudan, your fellow new tiny republic nobody cares about.

MR SINGAPORE.

People like that should be ignored. They’ve abused themselves to the point they create their own lies and force themselves to swallow it. Some of them have been on this platform for over a decade. No life, no job, no purpose except to post on nairaland everyday. They usually have nothing meaningful to say aside tribal talks or politics. sad folks.

Just view your own head full of excretre. Just because you don't want to little as Togo and co, you would rather prefer that human lives are lost than dividing Nigeria.

Tell me anywhere the current nugeria is better than Togo. I want 2025 facts.

Lazy man's thinking...

Break up and experience peace like South Sudan, bah? Or break up and find that the first thing you need to do is stand up an army that can wade off your larger and aggrieved neigbhour, as is the case with Eritrea - a country with more young people fleeing conscription than you can imagine.

Some of you just like parroting solutions that are totally unsuitable for Africa right now.

I have friends from four of the countries that emerged from Yugoslavia. And I can tell you, without fear of contradiction, that one of the things that ails them the most is how much they have become invisible and inconsequential within the sphere of global politics.

Listen to Igwe @Kemetian's admonition. We do not always agree, but he is right on the money here. cool

This is nonsensical on so many levels.

1. Nigeria's cultural clout is not a function of numbers. If it were, you would not be using China and India as examples of countries envying our clout.

2. Cultural clout does not compare to the life and death issues that compel people to seek self determination.

3. Even if broken into three states, each of those states will still be bigger than Six Benin Republics or two Ghanas.

You have no point here whatsoever.
