not happening. the world cup will still hold in the U.S. this year. the country does not need money from fans and visitors as they can clearly print money from thin air while the rest of the world suffers inflation for it.

If it was Russia that did what the U.S. did, and it was to host the 2026 World Cup, by now, they would have cancelled it or relocated the event to another country.

do you know U.S. oil companies have been buying Venezuelan oil under the table despite the ban/sanctions on Venezuela crude oil? It was even at a great discount because of these sanctions. Maduro refused to sell to these companies any more, preferring to deal with the Chinese and that was also one of the reasons he was kidnapped

FIFA should consider making the US only host the group-stage games while other co-hosts handle the rest of the games.
