Iamblessed88:Lol. But you saying the truth. Someone made a funny post expecting his 5k would have been really higher by the next day. I just dey laff. Investment is more about your capital 1st. Imagine with 500k total in mmf one is jumping from one mmf to another every week you are jus playing tbh. Year end you won't have 600k sef |

welzyj2:Hahaha honestly. That 5k guy, i’m sure he was traumatized when he woke up the next day and saw 5,000.16. Volume is the way to go. Volume even forces you to be contented with low interest rates. A tell tale sign of someone who has little investment is rate hopping |

Thank you guys for ver insightful discussions and I like the question about what steps to take and which providers to align with, let’s kuku move away from 5k investment. What’s a good starting point basically, 1m, 2 m or 5m and what investments one should go for with the listed amount would be helpful. |

| Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 7:52pm On Jan 25 |
It depends on your goal and your risk appetite. 2M goes to MMF, and 5M goes to equity. Niiade: |

You nailed it; that's what I do every month, and I will be cutting off some fund managers and just sticking to 2-3. Have toiled around, and now I know where my money must go. Growth and dividend are my goals. Iamblessed88: |

| Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 8:40pm On Jan 25 |
Niiade:My advise is know what your goal for your investment is 1st. Face it aggressively and smartly. If your comfortable amount this year is 2m try to push yourself to do 2.5 at least and compound it next year with more than your 2.5 this year (this has been my logic). If possible investment money should just be doing only investment work. You can put some quick money for projects to get small interest, but always be clear on your investment cash The younger you are the better your chances and more risk you can take. |

Iamblessed88:I remember having this conversation with a friend that goes around on her status telling people to invest with 5k ![]() I told her simply. Except they're just trying to build habit, they're better off using that money to buy sharwarma or suya or something ![]() Because most beginner investors, especially the 5k band...always see it as a get rich quick Scheme. That 5k has to be 100k by weekend ![]() |
| Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 7:19am On Jan 26 |
To start with 5k, that 5k has to be deposited monthly. However, it's going to be a tedious journey to make something tangible with 5k; 10k a month is not bad though. Salarys: |

Good day guys. I came here from mutual funds thread. I currently have 20m in Stanbic. Although it’s for long term but currently the rate is low. I also have ucap but I haven’t started investing there. Please I need advice of a good equity fund (just one) for long term investment. I wish to be investing monthly like 100k from this month. I don’t like opening too many accounts. I want at most one or two in addition to Stanbic. Thanks |
| Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 10:52am On Jan 26 |
Equity is risky; nevertheless, it is the best way to beat the daily falling rate. I would recommend Afrinvest or CardinalStone if you choose monthly top-up. Mixology: |
| Re: Equity Investment. by Jayce242: 11:26am On Jan 26 |
Mixology:From what I hear from investors, I think stabic equity is one of the best. They were among the top performing equity fund for last year. Only their mmf rate is low. |
| Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 11:53am On Jan 26 |
@Beeron, Zrosk has sent me all the requirements. I'll be joining them soon. 5M is the minimum, and it's VIP equity. |
