brain54:+ Not with snakes! I gave you videos as starters. They are very very aggressive, and will even hunt them out every time. Besides both words you use are just wrong for Pete's sake: you can never describe a cat as nonchalant or non aggressive when it comes to either prey of predators around it. Next thing you will apply this thinking to claim that dogs hunt mice better! You are just describing the lazy coolness of cats as seen in human relationships. Even wild cats have that demeanor but NOT around anything that could be a threat! |

brain54:Are you sure you know the animal you talking about? A snake will crawl into a cats territory and it will ignore? Are you aware cats are more territorial than dogs even though they rarely attack humans? That animal is more sensitive to his/her environment than a dog. No way a cat won’t see it, except that cat does not reside in that house. |

richiemcgold:Not the same snake. This one is a puff adder and the one posted by the OP is a night adder. The puff adder is serious business compared to the night adder. You can survive a night adder’s bite without an antivenin. You will certainly die if you don’t treat a puff adder‘s bite with an antivenin. |

brain54:Lol bro... Maybe your cat has lose its natural Prey&Predator survival instincts. A cat will always brawl any uninvited crawling visitor, it's natural instincts. |

iamoyindamola:You’re right. Back in 2020 someone was bitten by a juvenile night adder on our construction site but nothing happened to him. The bite site was bruised and reddish though. |

A mother cat and 4 of her children. Before I even left there, it has given birth to another set of 4 that's now running around also. Those cats chase anything snake and lizards away like no tmrw |

brain54:Brain54 what did I just hear you say. That cat will do I don't care to a snake? It's on the 6th of this month I was moved from the farm I was working since August last year. The farm is inside a village that's surrounded with bushes and also has Bush inside it. Till I left I never saw a snake at all. The were 5 cats inside the farm, 4 kittens and their mother. Those cats makes sure no snake sees the light of the day. The people I met there said they used to be snakes, but since they brought those cats, they have finished hunting them. In my presence there, I used to see those cats tearing lizards to pieces. Abeg no let them hear am, cats no dey use eye see snake, e go rush am sharp sharp |

HacheNoire:Did you see where I said if the snake doesn't cross it's path... That a cat is likely to ignore? You copied from AI and still can't apply what you copied. Ai is telling you cats are more aggressive to other cats and you can't apply that to what I said. Every little thing ai and you would still apply it to your little understanding! |

brain54:It’s funny you still arguing blindly! Comparing the territorial instinct of a cat to a canine in 2026. We not talking about Tom here but a real cat. |
| Re: Caught This Lil. Snake Chilling My Living Room Today — Please Identify The Name by brain54(m): 2:14pm On Jan 26 |
Kalulu44:Bros pls apply what I said to your comment... That you don't see snakes there don't mean the cats hunted all the snakes down or out. Snakes naturally would avoid confrontation or contact with animals they can't hunt. Being in same territory hunting for food or whatever with a cat is a threat to them. Not because cats hunt them down but because they prefer not to cross paths with cats. So naturally they will avoid them. Cats can see snakes crawling about and if they see them and decide they aren't threats to them they would ignore and be nonchalant about them. When cats would attack and kill a snake is when it sees it as a direct threat to them. Snakes naturally avoid them or any other natural predator they come across and so would avoid the area. That's what I said not that cats can't kill snakes! |

HacheNoire:Your problem apparently is applying your head to my my comment... A cat can never be more territorial than a dog. Apply what you read from ai and stop looking for potholes! |

brain54:It’s a Monday and won’t continue arguing baselessly with you. Some people have already schooled you on the thread and you still just want to continue arguing blindly. Saying a cat will past a snake? Are you for reel? |
