Cum4me:You are a typical example of the message she tried to convey. Instead of focusing on her message you are trying to discredit what she has said. Was a message in contrast with politicians looting. She was pinning her points in some aspect of the decay in Nigeria which several things contributed to it. She was only advising them to spend their money wisely and to invest on their personality but not on lifestyle. So what is difficult for you to understand there. |

Lot of jobless girls are using thr latest 16pro max how did they come about it. No one pays attention to girls lavish lifestyle courtesy of the politicians every youth that found a way to make it big is called a fraudster. Who likes to suffer, so the youths should sit back and let the politicians keep destroying their future. Politicians are so pained they are not the only ones driving latest benz, must be disappointing that the youths are rising up fast even better their spoilt children. |

BarrElChapo:If you gave it a second thought, you'd find meaning in why she made that statement. Not that I'm in support of yahoo but since I'm not the government to provide jobs, there's little u and I can do about it. But just imagine that there's no yahoo and majority of these youths went into high way robbery or banditry, just think about the resulting insecurity. |
| Re: “Yahoo Is One Of Nigeria’s Biggest Problems” — Lady by LofP(m): 10:41am On Jan 27 |
She has made a reasonable observation. Yahoo is one big societal problem that Nigerian government has failed to deal with. Next is organ trafficking. A former senator is in prison abroad for this. And the final boss is human rituals which the politicians also indulge in, and therefore cannot stop it. It is up to us as a society to speak against the evils of our time. |

TimiofAbuja:That is why the youth doing yahoo can never demand accountability from their senior colleagues in government who destroyed the country and systems which forced them into yahoo for survival. Only Truth or a sudden casting in yahoo will wake up the conscience of the lazy criminal minds. ![]() |

She also contrasted today’s youth with previous generations, noting that profits from 419 and other hustles used to be invested into legitimate businesses, while many of today’s young people prioritize instant lifestyles without long-term planning. ..... Lolzzzzz 🤣 Na dis comments make me laugh |

The major thing destroying this country is false religion - False Christianity and others have derailed the moral compass of the world and this nation. |

Light78:You are a man Stop whining, stop complaining and stop trying to make people feel sorry for you. Instead, find a way to navigate the system just like others (in the past & present) who encountered much more difficult challenges but were able to overcome them with their ingenuity |

Hmmmm. Yahoo (Internet) ; A blessing and A CURSE |
| Re: “Yahoo Is One Of Nigeria’s Biggest Problems” — Lady by omenka(m): 12:14pm On Jan 27 |
She's no different than the people she's advising. What does she mean by your next cash out, use the money blablabla"? Are they even supposed to be stealing in the first place? This generation is sick to the core. She condemns it but she also sees nothing wrong with the criminal vocation. |
| Re: “Yahoo Is One Of Nigeria’s Biggest Problems” — Lady by omenka(m): 12:16pm On Jan 27 |
DeltaBachelor:How is stealing from people through deceit and bringing their lives to ruins a "blessing and a curse"? I bet kidnapping could also be regarded as same. Smh. |
| Re: “Yahoo Is One Of Nigeria’s Biggest Problems” — Lady by omenka(m): 12:20pm On Jan 27 |
BarrElChapo:Be glad you didnt watch any further. She ended up justifying the criminal enterprise as expected. That generation is sick. I have no doubt folks would soon start normalising kidnapping and banditry. Theyve already started using the situation ad adaptations for comedy skits and funny memes. Thats where it normally begins. |

omenka:@Emboldened Every generation says that about the generations after them but they were no better during theirs. The generation you are referring to (Gen Z) is sick because the generations before them were also sick. I am a millenial formerly (indomie generation) and we were also very sick.I vividly remember my Gen X older siblings and their friends who were extremely sick.My parents generation? The baby boomers? The sickest of all generations |

| Re: “Yahoo Is One Of Nigeria’s Biggest Problems” — Lady by DeltaBachelor(m): 12:37pm On Jan 27 |
omenka:If you don’t understand me, just shut the fk up. Internet has been a blessing to some of us doing remote jobs, teaching students in the diaspora. I am not talking of criminal activities like yahoo. That’s a Curse as a result of internet. It has tarnished the image of legit people like us wey never get chance to travel because the whites are now scared of our region. To the very few that still give us the benefit of doubt, it has indeed being a blessing. If you are in Nigeria and you get paid in dollars, for a legit remote job, you will understand what I meant earlier. You even saw how I put “CURSE” in capital letters to denote that I am totally against it. Use your head o, nor let your head use you Bye |

Ojagun:Obviously like I said, you are not a remote-worker. There is no need arguing with an ignorant person. Good luck trying to open PayPal with a Nigerian IP address (without blocking your VPN). There are lots of remote jobs abroad (The whites) that screen you out because you are NIGERIAN. I am talking about jobs that will be given to a Ghanaian or even South-African o. Why do you think those Yahoo-Yahoo boys are leaving Nigeria in droves ? Them don cast Nigeria. Them don wan cast Ghana again. Do you think it is because of poor internet they are leaving ? It is because of the reputation of Nigeria abroad which has diminished seriously. Like John snow, YOU KNOW NOTHING my guy. Do have a good day ! |
| Re: “Yahoo Is One Of Nigeria’s Biggest Problems” — Lady by TheStoriesOfMan: 1:09pm On Jan 27 |
The problem of Nigeria is not Yahoo boys. The answer is a simple word: GREED Greed: comfortable, but want to have more, at the expense of the safety, moral and logical wellbeing of the society. |
| Re: “Yahoo Is One Of Nigeria’s Biggest Problems” — Lady by TheStoriesOfMan: 1:13pm On Jan 27 |
Elzazzi:Not only Yahoo boys, another reason is this mentality of believing every Onitsha businessman coming to do business in Asaba is "loaded" with cash. It would have been worse if Asaba was an oil-rich city. |

DeltaBachelor:You lot overrate the influence of naija yahoo boys. Are Nigerians more dominant in the sphere than indians? the chinese? & the russians? Those whites did not want to work with Nigerians because of what they had heard and not their personal experiences. Are whites the only online users? For goodness sake,if they don't want to work with you, find other costumers. Paypal has had those issues with Nigeria for a longtime. Is Elon Musk the neo-nazi not one of its founders? I am not a yahoo-yahoo person before i get labelled |

I hope the younger generation will heed this advice before it's too late. I'll add a few more points she omitted, for those who will take her message seriously: 5. Yahoo exposes young people to nefarious activities: ritual murders and other social ills can largely be attributed to Yahoo. 6. Some young boys, seeking money, resort to theft when the expected gains don't materialize. 7. Years wasted living in a vicious cycle, as she mentioned. Life is a process; individuals develop in stages. If certain stages are missed, the shortcomings will inevitably be felt in later life. In life, a child must learn to sit, crawl, stand, walk, and run, in that order. The same principle applies to financial management: young people must be taught to engage in productive activities. Money is the reward for work, but also a resource. We send money to do things, not the other way around. Once a child is mature enough to understand this principle, managing their spending well will be no problem. Engaging in fraudulent activities erodes these values and makes young people vulnerable, as we have recently seen. It is important to instill in young people the idea that money isn't everything, but that it is essential to prepare for it before needing it, otherwise it can become a trap. |

[quote author=TimiofAbuja post=138273555]Yahoo is not a legitimate Hustle. It is overwhelmingly a curse, even though some people try to justify it because of the money involved. though it provides quick money, it reduces unemployment for those involved, it brings foreign currency into the country and some use the money to support families. Destroys Nigeria’s global image, Encourages crime culture among youths, Leads to violence and rituals (Yahoo Plus) and it destroys families and futures. It creates jobs for many cuz they're the major patronisers of the hospitality industries |

| Re: “Yahoo Is One Of Nigeria’s Biggest Problems” — Lady by TheStoriesOfMan: 2:03pm On Jan 27 |
VEE2010:The bolded can only work in a greed-free society (though 100% impossible but achievable with strict laws). Greed na one kin bad spirit eh, if a sane person lives in a greed-filled society, the pressure will be too much than a greedy person living in a greed-free society. For the latter he can move to a place where he can operate with his folks. The long and short, environment is a key factor. I don't judge people trying to japa for a better life for their children, because they need the perfect atmosphere to thrive and be productive. |

TheStoriesOfMan:Absolutely, and thank you for your contribution on this important topic; however, I maintain that Nigeria is no worse off than some of the countries that are currently ahead of us in terms of development. I remember, as a child in Nigeria, that odd jobs were done by Ghanaians, and that, at the same time, petty theft was often orchestrated by them (this was in the early 80s and 90s). It only took the effort of one person for Ghana to become what it is today. Our country needs the right voice to lead and definitely, others will follow... |

TheStoriesOfMan:But if that’s your argument apartment rents isn’t even as costly as what is is in asaba. Asaba is now rivaling the Lekki and Ajah areas of Lagos when it comes to apartment rents. It was so before even in 2016. Atleast men from Onitsha having been coming to Asaba for ages, why didn’t it affect rents ? From 2020 Na hin rents just kukuma skyrocket anyhow for Asaba. |
