What really can you show to a 21 year old American visiting Nigeria, precisely Lagos for the first time if you don't want the person to be bored?

1. Don't show him you don't respect yourself.

He will see whats to be seen

Wetin he they find come, na wetin he they find we go show am now.

If his visiting is not in collaboration with ministry of tourism, he won't be able to see much in Nigeria

No cultural display when he visited

Show him the open gutters ,beggers and market women. What else is there to show from the common man apart from the super rich places that don't even have parks or centers of entertainment besides bars 🤔

It depends on the 21 year old 's personality and what interests him...

Nigeria is a country so big and diverse with a lot to see- from culture, tourism, night life, tech, amazing people etc.


It all depends on the personality and as they say when you meet a swords man draw your sword. When you meet a poet you can recite poetry.

You can't be taking or showing someone interested in culture tourism or night life. He would get bored.

Honestly speaking, I feel Lagos has nothing to offer to Nigeria in terms of Tourism. Other aspects is fine, but definitely not as a Tourist attraction.

Lagos is just an overpriced Slum.

Everything no be Lagos, places dy were still be fun.

Lagos is already a developed state take him to under developed side like the east and show him culture

Show him or her, something that resonate tourism .. take him/her to places that have history, culture and values

You see this white people .. you can never go wrong with them projecting tourism so research places or beta still ask around

We no dey promote tourism for Nigeria at all. Everybody just wan crowd Lagos and do the same nonsense dem dey do where dem come from. Person go fly from USA come Lagos, still go club, for wetin exactly? Wetin dey Lagos nightlife sef? Overpriced rubbish everywhere.

Nigeria is a Tourist Centre. In case you guys do not know.

Natural Wonders and Parks such as Obudu, Yankari, Erin-Ijesa etc

Cultural and Historical Sites such as Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove, Badagry Slave Route, Olumo Rock, Benin wall and artifacts, Ile-ife, Igbo ukwu, Nok, Sungbo Eredo, Mambilla, Ogbunike to mention a few.

Then there are beaches, plateaus, ancient castles, carnivals, festivals....

Our cuisine, cultural diversity and immense talent.

Nigeria has two UNESCO world heritage sites. If not for corruption and insecurity, the entire country is a tourist's haven.

Take him on BRT to Idumota for open market shopping and eat at a local buka. Then take regular buses/keke/bike back home. He won't forget in a while and might look forward to such again

Tourism-wise, Nigeria has very little to offer, and as for nightlife, maybe Lagos and that's it. Then, when it comes to culture, if you are lucky, he will come during one of our traditional ceremonies, that is, if it is his thing. Honestly, we need to develop our tourism. We dont realy have much to show the world.

If not that insecurity and undue criminality have spoilt our lives individually and nationally, I would have suggested you take him on a road trip around Nigeria, and make deliberate stopovers at typical Nigerian villages. That would have taken him away from the craziness of our urban centres. Take him to where you are sure he will be safe. Nothing over the top!

Take him to Egungun of Lagos for interview

What you will show your 21 year old nephew or niece is expected to be different from what you will show your 21 year old fiancée,maybe you should ask your question again

There is a reason why destination companies do not have BRT and buka eating in their itineraries. But I congratulate you on your creativity. The truth is that we have very little to show, and this should be a wake-up call to us as a nation.

I would say let him roam for a week. Get him a street savy person to answer his questions when he asked and also someone who really knows the City.
