Same South Africa where some of the shinning skyscrapers in their cities are occupied by crackheads and drug dealers?
Nigeria is not perfect, nowhere is. I have given money to beggars in other African countries and even in America as well.
Who are selling this drugs to them? Is it not Nigerians?

Let's face the fact, our begging culture is out of hand... Right from the airport down to your house especially if you are driving a flashy car... They will run towards your car till they run of energy.

Lagos is something else and the state government should look on how to stop this menace before it goes out of hand, that's why lot of VIPS and celebrities are using extra security not because of security breach but because of beggars on the street.

Even if your car breaks down on the road, street thugs will come and harass you for money.

Gosh!!! It's not this bad in other states.... It's an eyesore for first travellers to Nigeria

The state Assembly should enact a law to outlaw this gutter behavior in Lagos state

I bet you, this wouldn't have happened in Abuja

When Tinubu is ready to have his beggarly agboeroes engaged in proper honest work, then the embarrassment can stop.

He is already trying to turn every Nigerian into beggars with his obnoxious Tax scheme that aims to dip hands into our pockets to steal our hand earning money.

He knows that if you economically disadvantaged, he can easily throw some crumbs of bread to you, to buy your votes. That's how he controls his miscreants.

Keep them poor, make them pliable to your will.

Very Feudo-monarchical and yorubalistic..

He will keep falling and failing at that. Other tribes will not bend. Never.
As at today, how much has he stolen from your hard earned money with his obnoxious tax law?

Continue to ask irrelevant questions

Are you aware that right now Nigerian workers are lowest paid workers on earth?

That Nigeria has the least minimum wage in the world?

Like your master, it's only about you, yourself and your family, the rest can go and die.

I think it's well-deserved.
The begging? It was a total embarrassment, and mirrored the suffering and hopelessness of Nigerians under a clueless government.
Lol, nobody takes responsibility for anything. It is always someone else's fault. What has government got to do with people's low self esteem?

Some African countries have been busy channeling the energy to discuss how their country can be better to be gossiping about Nigeria

Meanwhile, we don't even have time to discuss about them as they are inconsequential

When you are big, you are indeed big
And who the hell are you bigger than? might need to change that to “beggar than”.

That region can beg!

Then you understand why they support everything that is wrong in this country.

Are these modern South Africans aware that our own Obj spent millions of our dollars just to see them emancipated and they're yet to repay such debts?

Honestly, freedom doesn't look good on these generation of south Africans
How do you expect them to repay the debt, which they have not done in the last three decades? How huh

Why have we lagged behind them in development such that we are waiting for them to repay our kindness?

You are very correct! I don't know if it is the whole of Nigeria or just Lagos o. I was in Nigeria for Detty December with some friends from California, it was disgraceful to see how security, waitresses, aboki, children and area boys are begging for money. I still don't know how Nigerian lost their morals to money. I grew up in Lagos and as far as i can remember it wasn't like this. This has got nothing to do with the government it is just a culture of greed and lack of self respect. Naija really need to change this epidemic of begging abeg.

I agree, we have beggars. South Africans would rob you with a gun instead, for just about anything. Very dignifying.

Following IShowSpeed's arguably disastrous live streams in Nigeria, where the locals were pestering him for money and favours - a South African TikToker has creatively used a famous American burger restaurant chain (Burger King) to diss Nigerians by referring to them as "beggar kings" while mockingly using the sound track of President Tinubu saying "Great Nigerian youth. The intelligent Nigerian youth...The ever productive Nigerian youth. The greatest of the greatest, of the greatest, of the greatest, of the greatest..."

Dude stop this nonsense. So we don't have armed robbers in Nigeria, or Maybe because they use cutlass to Rob you now they have better morals?. Nigeria and South Africa have a crime problem ,in South Africa it's even better because you know the no -go zones as a visitor, Nigeria has widely spread insecurity which makes foreigners scared to visit. Are foreigners avoiding South Africa?

Nobody is denying Nigeria is big.

The issue is why a “big” country produced that level of public desperation during iShowSpeed’s visit.

Face the message, not the deflection.
Big countries don’t brag — they correct what embarrasses them.

If those were South Africans, we wouldn't have YouTube channels and TikTok videos mocking them? We would have about 5 nairaland topics now discussing them .
gbam...... Point well stated.... We brought this let down on ourselves..... When you are big my foot

[/b] It is a cultural problem plaquing most Nigerians. A mix of greed and insatiability. If a petrol carrying truck falls today and people troop there to fetch and suddenly an explosion occurs and kills scores of people. Trust me, if it such truck accident happens again in a week time, my people will be there to scoop fuel. We are greedy and hide under poverty. While poverty pushes one to seek help, our desperation has NO SHAME.
I do agree that this rubbish goes beyond poverty. There are more poor countries than Nigeria in Africa but they don't act this way around visitors or have entitlement mentality to what belongs to others . In Naija even your extended family hear you abroad, they will act like you owe them something lipsrsealed

The truth is that Nigeria is big for nothing, you can't compare our economy and development to South Africa.
Ur politicians have weaponized poverty and now it is an international disgrace.

Some spirited party faithful have hijacked the thread with their inconsequential comments, does the begging culture speak well of us as a group of people, hell no but to those beings, it's more about what their political backers will love hear instead of addressing the begging culture. Lost fellows.

The begging culture was what birth the giveaway thing on SM and it's quite rampant now, hard times I must say.

What's up with the hypocrisy if South Africa just like Nigeria is grappling with different social issues?
I guess Nigeria alone deserves to be ridiculed while they hide their own problems? You need to shift.
Are foreigners avoiding South Africa? What type of question is that? Where have you been? Some people practically left the country and moved to other countries to escape violence.
