Nobody is denying Nigeria is big.

The issue is why a “big” country produced that level of public desperation during iShowSpeed’s visit.

Face the message, not the deflection.
Big countries don’t brag — they correct what embarrasses them.

If those were South Africans, we wouldn't have YouTube channels and TikTok videos mocking them? We would have about 5 nairaland topics now discussing them .
I like your explanation, wa ṣeré👍

You should have an explanation too for why SA is the crime capital of Africa. You used your malicious and hideous spirit to kill Lucky Dube, one of your own, thinking he was Nigerian. Mtcheeeew!

But they are still richer than us on avarage with way better living standards and comforts. We own everything and yet are the poverty capital, make it make sense. We are better in soccer but they run and fund a much more profitable and globally recognized soccer league with no European dependence. Let's be honest for once
South Africans don’t even own their country bro relax

I agree. I blame those who left their impoverished lands to make a mess of Lagos.

The troll is well-deserved.

Lagos and it's people have brought disgrace to Nigeria.

Nigha relax, the people who took him to the slums of Lagos are to be blamed for that.

See,and listen,I can boast of the fact that if it were here in warri,I swear to God nobody would have had that time to even be running after one streamer, let alone stoopping so low to be begging him.

There are nice places even in that Lagos but those who were opportuned to show him around decided to take him to the dirtiest part of the country instead.
For Christ all those begging happened on the Lekki Express way na, when he was in that Danfo bus. He didn’t even visit any slum. Try shot content for Lagos and see boys gather you Dey ask for Owo Ile ( Land money) Lol

Following IShowSpeed's arguably disastrous live streams in Nigeria, where the locals were pestering him for money and favours - a South African TikToker has creatively used a famous American burger restaurant chain (Burger King) to diss Nigerians by referring to them as "beggar kings" while mockingly using the sound track of President Tinubu saying "Great Nigerian youth. The intelligent Nigerian youth...The ever productive Nigerian youth. The greatest of the greatest, of the greatest, of the greatest, of the greatest..."
Upon say na Mulungu dey teach una English for free, dude can't even spell 'beggar' correctly.

The government has nothing to do with this, that guy is not a hungry man, he just has a begger spirit.
ResidentSnitch:
I think it's well-deserved.
The begging? It was a total embarrassment, and mirrored the suffering and hopelessness of Nigerians under a clueless government.

Some African countries have been busy channeling the energy to discuss how their country can be better to be gossiping about Nigeria

Meanwhile, we don't even have time to discuss about them as they are inconsequential

When you are big, you are indeed big
/
How can glorified beggars claim to be big indeed? Your politicians are running round the world begging. Your citizens have elevated begging to an art. In all, you refused to address the elephant in the room--shameless begging by Nigerians. They will beg a corpse for money if unchecked.

The government should address the embarrassing begging culture of Nigerians. It is very shameful indeed. Too many beggar kings lounging in that country.

Are you aware that right now Nigerian workers are lowest paid workers on earth?

That Nigeria has the least minimum wage in the world?

There is nothing like days of the Bible I have read it many times
There is no Emeka , Nsikan , Segun or Odion there

Those are not stories of black people

Maybe they had beggars in Jerusalem that may have been their culture

Does not mean there were beggars in Abakaliki

Somehow they have used this Bible to convince you You have no history or that if you do it is irrelevant

But we do and we did nothing with that ownership but produce the worst type of poverty in the world to the point that we see running to a slave camp like South Africa as an opportunity not an insult. That right there should be our biggest embarrassment next to this begging culture nonsense .

shocked
I killed Dube?

I thought Lucky Dube was killed by two fellow foreign nationals ( Zim & Moza)who used the " we thought he was Nigerian " line to score cheap points with the locals because they knew the locals hate Nigerians and might be sympathetic to them.

Crime capital of Africa? Also the most desired and visited African country in Sub-Saharan Africa, yes? And do you know that even with South Africa advertising itself as a country with the highest unemployment rate in Africa immigrants are still dying to enter there, I wonder what it is or what those already inside are telling them about the life on the ground compared the other safe African countries. Tourists, they must be attracted to the danger, because they can't seem to get enough of that place unlike in Naija where they are in a rush to leave .

And lastly ,you're deflecting ,what is our solution to this begging culture that you know irritates even family members abroad. Nigerians have an entitlement mentality to other people's success whether pastors or family members up to government officials. This was not a random case ,a lot of youtubers have been complaining about this when visiting Naija. This doesn't sell the country in a positive way no matter who points it out.

ElSudani:
What's up with the hypocrisy if South Africa just like Nigeria is grappling with different social issues?
I guess Nigeria alone deserves to be ridiculed while they hide their own problems? You need to shift.
Are foreigners avoiding South Africa? What type of question is that? Where have you been? Some people practically left the country and moved to other countries to escape violence.
It's not hypocrisy, it's them hitting back at our daily insults meeted at them, they usually ignore us but this was too global to miss.

When we insult them daily ,do we not have our own problems to face ? Maybe this is a lesson to us to to stop making enemies online ; look at how many African nations joined them mocking us with " so the giants who insult and belliltle other Africans , have this giant secret in their backyard ". Hypocrisy is seeing how much we insult others and crying like babies when they hit back.

Stats prove that South Africa has 5 times more foreigners than it had 4 years ago, so yes others might move ( like myself) but there are many more still living there. South Africa has still leads Africa when it comes to accommodating immigrants, the numbers speak for themselves and this is also part of whats causing the xenophobia. And on top of that South Africa is a tourist and investor magnet, they compete only with North African countries in terms of the numbers they recieve from foreign lands. So I.ask again, why is such a dangerous and horrible country desired by outsiders more than other African countries.

And our own killers that kill for food, religion etc are atleast more morally upright grin. That's why Nigeria is regarded as more safer and easier country to visit and reside in Africa. Nope,we are not fleeing our own crime and insecurity, the South Africans are . And Naija is the country tourists walk in our ghettos without supervision grin

This SA–Nigeria tension is not one-way and didn’t start yesterday. Xenophobia is wrong, yes — but Nigerians pretending we’ve never contributed to the problem is pure delusion.

Drug syndicates, Uber violence, document fraud, online insults, AFCON taunting — we’ve played our part whether we like it or not. We taunt South Africans aggressively when we win, but cry bias and conspiracy when they win. What should be sports rivalry turns into national hostility on both sides .

To make it worse, Nigerian content creators are obsessed with South Africa — farming clicks from hate while pretending innocence. Big person no dey shout innocence. Accountability is what grown nations do.

It's sad that the people Nigeria was in forefront fighting for their emancipation some decades ago are the same people making uncomplimentary remarks and jokes against Nigerians and this is not the first time, they have in the past made xenophobia attacks against Nigerians living in south Africa.

I don't want to believe the present crop of black south Africans lack historical knowledge of what their parents pass through in the hands of white supremacists .
