The 🇺🇸 United States has returned an oil tanker it seized earlier this month to Venezuela.

The vessel is the second of seven tankers to be returned to Venezuelan waters, after the 115,000-dwt Olina (built 2005) earlier this month.

The sanctioned 320,100-dwt VLCC M Sophia (built 2004) was one of seven seized so far by US forces as it tries to block unauthorised shipments from the South American country.

Two US officials told Reuters the vessel will be returned for Venezuelan trading. The reason is not clear.

The US Coast Guard, which leads interdiction and seizure operations, has not commented.

The M Sophia was carrying crude when it was intercepted on 7 January by the Coast Guard and the US military.

The ship was described by the US as a “stateless, sanctioned dark fleet motor tanker”. It is not known if the cargo remains on board.

US forces captured the M Sophia after descending onto its deck from a helicopter, footage from US Southern Command shows.

It was reported that the VLCC was listed under the flag state of Panama until this month.

Abi o. Now that Maduro can no longer use oil to fund his criminal enterprise, Venezuela can have its tanker back

So why did they seize the tankers in the first place?

And why are they still seizing more tankers. Maduro is no longer President.

They seized 7 tankers weeks after Maduro was kidnapped.

Why?

The US is not the most powerful country.

You cannot call yourself powerful when you heavily rely on 32 other countries to flex your power.

This behaviour is completely out of order for a mature, respected state. The USA lost most respect from her peers and lovers. The next President certainly has a lot of work to do.

Why are people elected president if not to inherit a lot of undone work?

It is not a Venezuela tanker vessel in the first place. It does not fly Venezuela flag.

The seizure and stealing of it's oil cargo by USA is criminal.

US - Trump playing Maradona.

I see the word " UNAUTHORISED"
This is very interesting... So a sovereign nation now needs authorisation to do legal business with whoever again? Is that not bully?

Are the fishing boats that USA has been shooting in the waters of Venezuela no longer smuggling drugs into the USA anymore or the capture of Maduro has stopped them. They are now just fishermen on boats doing their daily business.

USA 🇺🇸 is a ridiculous and disrespectful country under Donald Trump.

The Americans are like a rabid dog.

The world will have to put them down someday.

Mark my words.
