This is not cyberstalking, you've gone out of context, read the charge they even charged her there for, still on intent, telling you they know a whole lot will not even fly, this is just pure bullying...
Are you reading another news?
where she faced three counts of alleged criminal defamation and cyberstalking linked to online posts about colleague Mercy Johnson‑Okojie.
When you are trolling someone online on multiple times, it becomes cyber stalking

This shit has gotten out of hand. Apology is no longer enough. Scapegoats have to be made and that's the only way to awaken the consciousness of other stone heads

Talking about someone on your page is not cyberstalking, cyber stalking is when you go to the person's page and constantly disturb the person, that is stalking, that is trolling....

where did you see it in the crime charge there?

Keep mentioning their names on your page in a negative way incessantly and they will call it cyber stalking. You will just have have to convince the judge that it is not stalking

Hmmm..... Was she supposed to be remanded in prison when preliminaries have not found her guilty. What about if she won the case case. What would be her compensation for the prison experiencehuh

This Cyber bulling law supposed not be a criminal law but civil because it looks like an easy tool in the hand of the highly placed to oppress the downtrodden.

Please, look beyond this Angela case...
In Nigeria, cyberbullying can be classified as either a criminal or civil matter depending on the severity and nature of the actions involved.

It is considered criminal if it includes threats, stalking, or harassment that violates state or federal laws, which may result in penalties such as fines or imprisonment.

Honestly, there should be a special place to keep a person under trial instead of sending them to prison yard, even if it is called remand.

You made a good point but if the court allow her to go, she may run away. So they need one or two people to sign undertaking for her and guarante the court that she will not run away, that is bail.

Without that bail, that is no guarantee, the court keeps her in prison

You are here supporting rubbish, If MJ didn't do something like this other cyberbullies won't learn.

Most times they need to be dealt with before they come back to their senses.

What do you know about legal court proceedings?
This is not a case of a serious crime offense or felony.
In the Criminal Code Act, Deformation is in the category of a minor offense.
So what will it take the Judge to rule on the bail application if the judiciary system have not been influenced and hijacked.

I wish people can understand the Nigerian constitution and laws. They are rich but don’t have good legal team. Cybercrime is not a joke. Don’t go to prison for “clout.”
I know SM will land people in prison and still others won't learn their lesson. Imagine one telling me "freedom of speech" as if freedom of speech gives you the right to commit crimes.

Ideally it should have been police custody aka jail not prison but jails are kinda worse than prison in this country.

What do you mean by good legal team? Is it not the law that you must be given bail immediately after arraignment? This is definitely judicial corruption
A good legal team tells you what and whatnot to do/say. Their lawyers either be getting paid for nothing or not getting paid well enough.

This whole criminal or civil law debate has been trashed a long time ago!

It remains a criminal law!

So it's simple: before it becomes criminal, be civil!

Choose your words carefully and if you must make allegations, have water-tight proof! or else you and portable will soon be prison mates.

See Kemi Olunloyo running her mouth on Davido and if he picks her up now...

what you don't understand you don't say, so lay low. obviously one of those skipping law classes while in tertiary institute.

you only got me cracked and thanks for that. you ended up doing what you accused me of doing so we (both) are guilty. are satisfied now.

nobi fight now, I only teased with the end part of skipping classes in school, so please learn swallow chill pills.

@Obakoolex the truth is she being remanded in custody don't mean she has been judged, convicted or condemned. law is about Evidence, Fact and Logic. mind you there are technicalities involve we from the outside don't get to know before she was denied bail. one of it might be the judge had strong evidence she would end up a flight risk if granted bail hence the bail denial.
People like you almost always have terrible views that actually can drag a nation backwards, she would end up being a flight risk? What happened to the seizure of international passports and other measures to curtail that? What is the gravity of this crime? Is this fair treatment or a reasonable judgement from a judge that has not been bought? What has happened to politicians accused of heavy crimes in the past? How many have been remanded until before proven guilty? History reminds us people who committed m"rder and looted billions in public funds got much softer treatments, all in the face of the "law".
When someone who has got connections or knows the shameless folks we unfortunately have in positions of power decides to oppress one who doesn't, it is always funny to see how ordinary people with no meaningful surnames who are more likely to suffer the same or worse treatment come on forums to defend such maltreatment and injustice, how senseless and embarrassing!
These are the judges we have in election tribunals, the ones presiding over cases of corruption against public officials, the ones getting houses provided by a Mad Godfather who has several million naira properties with no proven source of income.

Please, don't talk like ill literate. Even without a lawyer once you are arraigned in court for a bailable offence, you must be given bail. That is what the law book says. So, a lawyer does not need to tell you anything beyond saying "not guilty". Bail is automatic.

But they have fixed the judge to withhold bail to punish her with further imprisonment

You’re the one sounding like an illiterate now. A legal team can do a lot more than court appearances. If she had a good attorney, they’d have advised her not to post all the so called “contents”

You can try to have a constructive conversation without being dense and rude.

I was not insalting you. I was only pointing out that you have a very serious defect in knowledge.

And see your statement in bold, is it not because she was arrested and taken to court that she got her legal team? So, now you have moved post from the corruption of the court's proceedings today to her utterances.

Obviously, you are bias and in support of every action Mercy Johnson has inflicted on her, even if it is unlawful.

And this is why oneday, it would be you who will be the recipient of unlawfulness. And then you would remember this day that you once supported wickedness and unlawfulness. And on that day we shall see if your legal team can save you

I'm not much bothered about the charges, I'm only bothered about the arrest before the charges placed on her...

Then let her prove her claims in court, if she can't, then sentence her, arresting her is already judging her before giving her the chance to prove her claims...

You are one of the problem of this country.
You see abnormalities and you keep quiet.

This is what we say that out criminal justice system is rotten.

In a system where the criminal justice system is up and doing, it will take no time for a presiding Judge to rule on the bail application for deformation.

When Chief Femi Falana took Very Dark Man to court for the same deformation offense, the judge rule on his bail application on the same day.

You people should stop complicating this country.

Is it a murder case or a felony that it will take 100 days for a competent judge to rule on the bail application.
Is all gimmicks to punish the Lady.
Our judiciary have long been compromise.

Abeg shift with your ignorance. First of all, it's "Defamation" not Deformation. Secondly, go and read the new cyber laws that came into existence last year. In the new cyber laws, recording private phone call conversations is even against the law. Don't be ignorant

Shut up.
In the criminal Code Act section 28, there are 3 categories of criminal offense.

Deformation doesn't falls under the category of serious offense or felony. It falls in the category of a minor offense and not a serious offense.
This is why some compromise judge's use you guys to play because you don't know anything.
