grandstar:But Tinubu budgeting 7b and 10b for solar last year and this year won't destroy the economy ? The life style of the politicians who waste public funds won't destroy the economy ? Sometimes I wonder if people like U are just wicked. Nigeria problem is poor investment in competent education and waste of public funds through politicians life style, families and girlfriends. The money spent on Vice president alone can put our local league in good faith which will boost tourism, creates massive jobs and improve economy. U can't fool people like me. |

Thats a Nupe or Kogi man. There is no way a Colonel can be bankrolling a General to plot a coup. |

thomas2024:I'm not sure you remember the days of the military. Maybe you were young then. Abacha destroyed all the refineries and started importing dirty petrol at a point that killed several people. You couldn't even talk against him. His boys can fish you out and kill you. There was a time there was neither enough gas nor kerosene to cook and people resorted to firewood and saw dust. It was a terrible period and the worst is that this kind of post you made on a public forum would have put you in trouble if a soldier was president |

May God save you from rotting in jail if DSS pick you up. You are supporting truncating democracy? It is death sentence in China. [/quote Corruption is also death sentence in china. Why can't that be same in Nigeria ? Democracy with no electricity and water? Most nigeians are codedly tiered of the so called corruption in Nigeria o. |

alobright17:What is my benefit if Obi and Atiku wins? We are talking about government that can make Nigeria develop, pls. Namibia has electricity. I'm tired of buying fuel and using generator to sleep at night or watch my child sleep under heat. I'm tired. Democracy has failed just as military regime. Nigerians have suffered so much. Health care, zero. Even health workers are on strike while presidency has 7b budgeted for solar, godddss |

At least he has the courage, not those ones who cash out on the masses sufferings. Who are paid protection money or "keep the boys away fund" so to remain in power. |

I Solutionme:Through electoral process that is corrupt and keep paying politicians so well while the rest of the country suffer massively ? Africa is experiencing coupe because the citizens are tired of failed politicians who keep looting, being trabalistic and can't provide ordinary water and electricity in 21 century. Many countries in Africa are struggling today because of extreme corruption by the politicians. I just feel sorry for the continent. With the rising population and terrible living conditions s eh, na die for the continent because one day e go burst up |

This man must be aggrieved, serving as a Colonel for almost 10 years without promotion to the rank of General is what the military should look into. What stalled his promotions?! The man who should have been aspiring for his Major General rank is still serving as a Colonel is a red flag na. |

thomas2024:it is this same school of thought and severe lack of historical knowledge that enthroned Buhari— a historically well known failure, and his band of APC goons to lead Nigeria. It was that mistake of 2015 that gave raise to this brand of Amoda, and you will think that Nigerians have finally learned their lessons but sadly we haven't. We keep going in circles in Nigeria because we are so averse to consulting our history books. No sane, educated and historically aware Nigerian would ever wish for a military coup in Nigeria. Do not in your eagerness to remove this cup of suffering that you substitute it with a cup of thorns and poison way worse than the former. No matter how bad this APC government is, and it is very bad, it is still better than a military regime. |

thomas2024:See this one, this your wish should be over your household not over the country. We should not be clamouring for a military take over. Never! If you were of age when military was in power you wouldn't wish for this. |

Princedapace:You're not talking about government that'll development anything because military regime has nothing with development, all the coup in Africa has been for selfish ambition, greed and let me be the one chopping it not the other person . You don't care about Obi and co but you care about one military man that'll do coup and capture power abi ? So what is the guarantee that the person is even going to do better ? Mention one military man or men that you'll say this man will do best for us Nigerians. Your hate for Tinubu is the only reason why you are calling for coup d'etat rather than another democratically elected leader. Coup for Army to come and rule us ? Kai this guy you should be ashamed for saying this . |

alobright17:U arent getting it, civilians have ruled many african countries for 50 years plus, yet these countries are lavishing in poverty while the ruling class buy exotic cars in UK, france, Dubai, etc. Are u not worried about the cause of military coupes? The cause has alawys been failed civilian rule. If the civilains have ruled well, no body in this world would want to wish them out. African countries with a bit of bettter life no reach 6 countries. The rest are choatic with civilians looting away the continents resources to buy endless cars, endless houses, hijack the judiciary, electoral commission, police, etc. Shame no dey catch una? |

The IMF policies did not impoverish the country. It was Babangidas reckless spending that impoverished the country. He relied on ways and means, which is when the central bank prints money to lend to the government. This leads to surplus cash in the system which leads to massive increases in inflation. The excess cash is now chasing the same amount of dollars. That would lead to a massive depreciation of the Naira. The better you implement IMF policies, the better it is for your economy amd vice-versa. IMF policies are free market policies. That is what Okonji-Iweala, Charles Soludo, Lamido Sanusi and Patrick Utomi preach. They were the same policies that OBJ followed and left $20bn in the excess crude reserves, $60bn in the foreign reserves. He also reduced the country foreign debts from. $30bn to $5bn. They were the same policies that Jonathan followed but not as strictly as OBJ. Buhari turned his back on these policies and the economy collapsed. |

Mistersolar:Whether my life has gotten better or not is irrelevant. 1 + 1= 2, whether we like it or not. If the fuel subsidy remained, the government would have resorted to ways and mean, which is the act of the central bank printing money to lend to the government. This would lead to high inflation rate and a depreciating naira. Had the fuel subsidy removal remained, the Naira would collapse to N3,000 to a dollar by 2027. |
