25 killed in Nigeria's deadliest reported Islamist attack since US Christmas strikes

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria, Jan 30 (Reuters) - At least 25 people were killed when suspected Boko Haram militants attacked a town in northern Nigeria, relatives of victims said, the deadliest reported Islamist attack since U.S. President Donald Trump ordered air strikes on Christmas Day.

The victims were labourers who had travelled to Sabon Gari town in northeastern Nigeria's Borno State to work at a construction site, when gunmen swept in on Thursday and opened fire, relatives Hassan Usman and Auwal Isa told Reuters.

Aliyu Ndume, a senator who represents the region, said he was "shocked and saddened" by the killing of his constituents.

In a separate militant attack, also on Thursday in Borno, at least nine soldiers and two members of a civilian task force assisting them were killed by fighters who launched a pre-dawn assault on an army base. Sixteen people were wounded.

Borno, where Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters have intensified attacks on military convoys and civilians, remains the epicentre of the 17-year Islamist insurgency.

Nigeria, plagued by Islamist attacks and mass kidnappings, is under additional pressure to restore security since Trump accused it last year of failing to protect Christians. U.S. forces struck what they described as terrorist targets on December 25. The Nigerian authorities say they are cooperating with Washington to improve security.

No be say na 25 nama die oh, to warrant the we-couldn’t-care-less attitude of those whose responsibility it is to protect the lives and properties of everyone! A whole TWENTY FIVE INNOCENT HUMAN BEINGS that woke up on the morning of that fateful day to continue their tough existence and eke out a living….just wasted for nothing! Their only ‘crime’ was being born Nigerians and having useless leaders in gov’t!

They are more concerned about the non existing genocide in Gaza.
This is exactly the same format they used for jews in the middle east.
When those ones gather courage, influence, money and knowledge to reclaim their ancestral land, they are suddenly land grabbers and invaders, same way if these set of displaced Northern Christians try to return to their forefathers land in borno in the future, they would have re written their own history for them tagging them invaders and land grabbers.
Very greedy and evil set of people who want the entire middle east and the world to themselves alone.
Don't allow ISLAMIC TERRORISM APOLOGIST to push nonsense narratives, propaganda and lies anymore on this forum until they learn to tolerate and coexist with fellow human beings in peace ✌.

And it looks like the local media have been censored, never to report the Islamic terrorists attacks and the calculate Christian genocide in Nigeria. How do we learn of this from a foreign media outlet without any local media reporting it? This is too bad. No one's ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian.

Do news like this thrill or not thrill those who created Nigeria?
Boko Haram had on many occasions made it clear that it's fighting for a country to be governed with Sharia criminal laws. The political and religious leaders in the 12 far northern Nigeria states adopted sharia crimimal laws beginning 1999.
So even a sophomore in Law School would advise that the best way to end the carnage in Nigeria is by granting a sovereign Arewa Islamic Republic to the 12 sharia states.

THE COLONIAL MASTERS NEED TO INDUCE THE UN FOR A REFERENDUM ON WHO WANTS TO REMAIN A NIGERIAN.

BLACK LIVES MATTER.

There will be NO total solution to the jihadi terror attacks and foreign Fula militia bandits attacks across the border areas of Northern Nigeria because the jihadi terror group such as the one called JNIM in Mali which is linked to Al-Qaeda is the biggest jihadi terror group in West Africa right now NOT even BH.

JNIM terror group of Mali has already capture more than half of Burkina Faso and over half of Mali as well since the Russians took over from the French forces. The Russians made matters WORSE! JNIM operating deep inside Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic is the BIGGEST Jihadi terrorists group in the whole of West Africa making West Africa the BIGGEST region in the whole world with the highest terrorism incidents.

I have to remind those who are younger in age here or those who have low memories, that this is the reason the former President Goodluck Jonathan as of 2012/2013 deployed Nigerian Military forces to Mali to fight alongside French and Malian troops against the Jihadi gangsters. Goodluck Jonathan CLEARLY said if the jihadi insurgency in Mali wasn't tackled then the terror war in Nigeria will get worse.

The 2 insidious countries of Mali and Mauritania are where BH and ISWAP have been getting jihadi trainings and logistics for fighting in Lake Chad Region and in Nigeria with many BH jihadis NOT being of Nigerian origin but jihadi mercenaries. The non-existent borders in many West African Sahel countries make things even WORSE for security and peace in Nigeria because of the security weaknesses of the failed military dictatorships in Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic who further bungled the security of the ENTIRE West Africa by bringing in the Russians to handle security which has turned out to be a failure far WORSE than it was before.

So, it's totally IRRESPONSIBLE for anybody to be jubilating/gloating online or saying that the unending or intermittent attacks by Jihadi terrorists is due to incompetence on the part of the current Nigerian President's administration and the Nigerian Military. This is an international security problem and the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Nigeria, Ghana, Cote D'Ivoire, etc, and indeed the rest of the world MUST be involved together Militarily in CRUSH these Jihadists in Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger Republic and other countries in the West African Sahel by using the most advanced weapons available such as laser-based weapons and attack drones which Nigeria and other West African countries do NOT have in large numbers right now.

As a man who has advanced knowledge of global geopolitical dynamics and counter-terrorism analysis for decades now, I MUST commend Nigeria and the Nigerian Military for a good job done so far because this terror war from these IRRESPONSIBLE jihadis is a war that is being fueled by the current Tuareg-led insurgency in Mali which started BEFORE the one by BH in Nigeria and in the Lake Chad Region. The joint Military operations involving the United States and Nigerian Military forces MUST be reinvigorated to get maximum peace.

This incident is at least five days old.

I said something on another thread, that the recent proliferation of propaganda threads and articles on mainstream and social media, has been a feverish attempt by the government to hide this particular terrorist attack grin.

But tinubu is so politically desperate that he keeps making the mistake of playing political gimmicks with the lives of his own citizens. And the sheepish citizens are busy fighting themselves over ijebu garri and okpa enugu😂😭.
