It doesn't mean, if Obi should mistakenly clinch the primary ticket for ADC, he will still amass millions of voters because, state election is about voting your candidates. But national election still have some similarities that exist among people nationwide

This is kindergarten analysis. If you understand the demography of Peter Obi's support base, you wouldn't engage in such puerile postulation.

If Peter Obi is not on the ballot, then obidients are not interested. His political currency is not transferable.
when it comes to the south east, we don't understand Demography... Once it's outside southeast like in edo then it's rigging... Na una wise pass na grin
Re: 2027: Obidients And The Illusion Of Political Dominance by bentenny(m): 8:01pm On Jan 30
You guys from the Atiku camp have started again with your endless write-ups....when the Obidients camp react with their own write-up,you instantly cry out and report them!

I always state clearly that you cannot start fire and then try to determine the level of it's intensity!

You claim Obidients are delusional....this stale narrative is not today!
I heard worse in 2022...two PDP and atiku faithfuls here swore Obi will not even win in his PU let alone his LGA!
All that is history!

If you think the Obidient movement is insignificant, then why do you guys keep crying about Obidients dividing the votes of the opposition?
Oh so the movement can do that and yet get labelled as if they are negligible?😁

Smh

The Op. has just told the mob what they hate to hear the most!

Even though they can see quite clearly that PO's pre-2023 political profile is on a steady decline, they would rather dwell on the illusion of grandeur.

To make matters even worse for him, this time around, there may be no platform for him to contest having burnt all available bridges.

PDP = case closed!

SDP = no road!

LP = don't even bother!

ADC = beware of Goliath Atiku!

Alas, the man would just become an internally displaced politician (IDP).

Chai!

Obi nwanne!

Politics na your mate?

If only that can allow for an independent candidate, and a fair election, Obi wins.

Unfortunately, INEC and Judiciary are in the pocket of Bulaba.

Na mumu still dey vote
I thought independent candidacy was part of the electoral bill that is supposed to be passed at the assembly!
I hope it scales through....too much internal fighting in political parties!

Obidients without a home, political hobos.

They have gone from the Pdp to The LP, & to The ADC in 25 months, nomadic people.

A serial party hopper who achieved nothing particularly remarkable during eight years in a relatively small state like Anambra suddenly reinvented himself overnight as a messianic figure. Such a character is bound to fail woefully in a complex and deeply diverse country like Nigeria.

There is no coherent economic blueprint, only empty buzzwords, publicity stunts like serving food in public, recycled or questionable statistics, headline-chasing, and constant pandering to the gallery.

Peter Obi is largely a product of social media fabrication and hype. There is nothing exceptional about his record, either intellectually and in terms of measurable performance. What we are witnessing is a group of disgruntled elements desperately trying to repackage failure as a reformer, and a serial party hopper as an ideological politician. This political adventure is destined to end in heartbreak and premium tears

Obidients have been living a lie since their leader lost the 2023 elections...the create worlds of fantasy around themselves , then engage in bullying other people into submission..they tell you it is either peter Obi or the high way.. Unknown to these deluded fellows , they are posed to experience a rude awakening by 2027...I come in peace 😁😁😁😁

Without rigging is if you win, once you lose then it must have been rigged. Even though all reports after theast election have shown that there was more rigging in places where Obi won than other candidates but he still came.in 3rd. Ouch grin
The person must have supplied you more than he gave me for you to have forgotten that even with rigging, he won His Lagos State hands down

We are patiently waiting for him to be on the ballot once again, this time he would scramble for fourth position.

TonyeBarcanista:
You just displayed your understanding!

Every serious contender in politics do influence performance in elections where they are not candidates. Their candidates may win or not win, but the performance is never terrible.

Think of Trump (GOP), Obama (Dems), Bubari (ANPP/CPC/APC), Asiwaju (AD, AC, ACN, APC), Wike (PDP/APC) etc. This is common politics
I think PDP’s loss of Peter Obi troubles you sir.

May I remind you that the first time you all declared Obi as irrelevant was the Osun state governorship election? If you take your mind back, you’ll clearly remember that LP’s result was nothing to write home about. You all wrote Obi off on the basis of that first test.

Do you remember that you all labeled him as a man without structure? Do you remember that Obi called the people his structure and not the buildings that you people believe in? Thankfully you recognized his performance at the Presidential election in 2023.

I wonder how you judged just Obi by the performance of other LP candidates. Do you want to be reminded that just as his fellow party members were defeated at the polls, APC and PDP candidates lost in many areas also, inspite of the fact the leaderships of Tinubu and Atiku?

Do you want to be reminded that there were too many contestants in 2023, who won on the basis of Obi’s name?

By the way, how did you come to the wrong conclusion that Obi’s popularity has faded? Is there nothing like election campaign schedule? Looking at his campaign for ADC’s candidates a couple of days ago, is that not enough evidence to prove that Obi’s popularity increases daily? By the way, why has APC singled him out as their major challenger? What happened to Atiku and Kwakwanso?

“Every serious contender in elections do influence performance…”. So how do you describe those ones who won just decades of Obi’s name?

Your write up is too unintelligent please.
Re: 2027: Obidients And The Illusion Of Political Dominance by obaidan: 9:54pm On Jan 30
Obi was really strong in 2023 and I belive he was robbed of a lot of votes. However the real job of sustaining a political movement is what becomes of that movement after a loss.
On the surface it looks like the energy of the obidient movement have evaporated, but we will see in 2027 if he is on the ballot.
In my opinion, only an Atiku/Obi ticket can challenge Tinubu. Sadly Obi accepting to deputize Atiku will hurt his fan base who do not understand that votes have to be won first before nation building starts. A Muslim Christian ticket would have made Tinubu second to Atiku in 2023. But the man chose to fight for the votes first. Any talk of religious balance and inclusiveness will come after election is won.
I really hope Obidients can see politics this way, that is the only way Obi can move a bit closer to the presidency. Atiku is around 89 already, God of Jonathan can strike again.
Also if obi gets the ticket of ADC for 2027 election, apart from him not having the ability to challenge atiku and /or tinubu in the north, the north will also have zero incentive to vote for a new southerner(thay will have constitutional rights to use 8 years) after tinubus 4 years.
Atiku will pull numbers from the north as usual, if Obis base will collaborate, we may just have a 1 term Bola Tinubu presidency
Re: 2027: Obidients And The Illusion Of Political Dominance by Bimpe29(m): 9:55pm On Jan 30
I call it political daydreaming because of the obvious fact as laid bare by the author of this piece.

Politics is local in its entirety and to be politically successful, the higher numbers of voters are required.

In view of the above, a potential electoral victory is hinged on the popularity, acceptability and capacity of the aspirant not only on the social media but within the entire political ecosystem.

Well then sorry, since Obidient is not a registered political party, that is why I have always said that Gringory Obi is wasting his time, because under Nigeria’s law, only through a political party, can an individual occupy Aso Rock.

Tonyebarcanister will all his lifetime watch as income from crude oyel generated from his backyard is frittered away to thousands of miles from his swampy home area, while his people escape to other parts of Nigeria because of pollution from oil exploration and exploitation in Tonyebacsnisters backyard.
Re: 2027: Obidients And The Illusion Of Political Dominance by Lzkdy: 10:25pm On Jan 30
You are wrong. Rigging election in Nigeria does not matter if forces are combined since the INEC chairman and the Judiciary are corrupt and biased.
nairalanda1:
That's what all Nigerian candidates say. If the election is free and fair I will win!

That's what buhari and tinubu were saying in the past before they realized that the fault was literally in their refusal to combine forces and to work together.

That's why we are now suffering tinubu lation. In 2023, someone should have humbled themselves and joined hands with others. Had they done that, tinubu would be in retirement home by now
